Hey CB, I have a very serious problem. I'm f**king crying because of how stupid I am.

Okay, so my girlfriend was supposed to come over to my house today because I was going to go take her to a movie. She lives about 20 minutes away, and the movie we were supposed to see started at 4:15, which was in about 40 minutes. I figured "cool, I'll just play Pokemon while I wait".

So I'm playing Pokemon, and having a pretty damn good time. Anyway, she finally does show up, except she's crying as she walks into my room. Instead of doing the right thing by comforting her, I half-focus on my game and her. She starts telling me her cat died, and just as she was getting into it, I get into a random encounter in my game.

A shiny pidgey. Holy shit. (For those of you who don't know/care, shiny pokemon have less than a 1/1000 chance of appearing). I stare into my screen in amazement, yelling "holy shit, YES", interrupting her mid-story. She sobs more, and she starts to yell "You don't even f**king care! YOU JUST WANT TO PLAY YOUR f**king GAME!" I'm still looking at my screen, still focusing on catching my shiny pidgey, when she walks over, and tosses the game against the wall. I run over and pick up my DS hoping that nothing has changed on screen, and quickly noticed that she broke it. My system and my shiny pidgey, gone forever.

I start screaming every obscenity I know, and started flailing my arms around. I didn't know she was behind me, and apparently I backhanded her in the face while I was being a dumbass and swinging my fists around. She yells out "f**k YOU", and runs out of my house in tears.

What have I done? I've f**ked up so badly, and I need to know how to approach her. I don't want a game of Pokemon to be responsible for ruining my best relationship ever. Help me CB!

Okay, I think you should invest in some candles.. the ones that can float, set up in a bath tub/jacuzzi or something, play that song by "ne yo- when you're mad" and take it from there..


Oh yeah and find a picture of her cat, make something like a memorial artsy and shit for the cat so it kind of shows like you care(about the dead cat). Throw in a poem and you're sure to get laid

You should tell her that there's no way a game would ever be important than her, and that you're sorry her cat died. She might not believe you at first since you were playing Pokemon when you should have been listening to her, but she should chill out after a little while. Although I have to say that you should have been listening to her... ._. I mean, you could have just put the GameBoy down because Pokemon is a turn-based game in battles, and nothing will happen until you attack or throw a ball. >_>

Write her your entire story and put it somewhere that she'll find it and read it preferrably afterschool. Go home and bake her cookies or make jello or something & show up at her house unexpected. Call her & ask her if she read the note and then tell her to go outside. And then apologize like crazy.

This made me think about how much you really care about her...I know that if my boyfriend walked in crying, I'd drop whatever I was doing and comfort him. Same goes for him. Hell he dropped what he was doing when I walked in looking sad and depressed once and spent an hour just cuddling with me to make me feel better. You really should've just pause or turn off the game when she started telling you why she was crying; how would you like it if you were telling your gf about something and she was focusing ALL her attention on painting her nails or reading a magazine?

Obviously you should try apologizing. Try really hard. Try to do sweet things for her...do stuff you know she likes. Go out of your way to please her. Be the perfect boyfriend to her.....

this is my best advice. if you seriously would not let your Pokemon down to listen to your girlfriend sobbing then you obviously dont really care for her. I mean PAUSE the game for at least 5 minutes to listen to her troubles that IS part of the realtionship. Shes by yourside and you are by her side when either of you are having a bad day if you guys cant handle that, then it is not going to be a good realtionship.


BUT that is pretty jacked up that she messed up your game not only stupid but childish and a spoil rant. I know that if anyone broke something of mine that was expensive just because of a spoil rant i would PERSONALLY kick their ass out of my house.

Well, I'm not going to lie. If I found a shiny pokemon, I would've pushed anyone out of the door but...in a case like this, it's best to just show her you care. Pokemon is pokemon, what good is a shiny pidgey when it has the exact same moves as every other pidgey. (I had a shiny rattata, didn't do smack.) Apologize to her and try to work it out. Good luck.
