DDR is like a treadmill but more fun.

I've actually never seen it around where I live _dry.gif

OMIGOSH I know. XD In this casino my mom's friend's work at, we'd go to the arcade there every weekend (to pick her up). And we'd always play DDR there. And people would crowd up to us. ESpecially old people and their grandchildren, man. Theyre all clapping when we're like on light mode.

BUT OMFG, have you ever been in the arcades one?!
Is it just me, or do they not work? like I have to friggin STOMP to get make sure the thing has censored me hitting the arrow. So we stick to light mode. lol.
jue
^ That happens to me with my own mats. I guess it's cause they're pretty old.

I've played In the Groove a few times, but I still like DDR more. I can see why people would like ITG better though. If you've gotten so good at DDR that it gets boring even to play it on challenge mode, ITG has some songs where you need to step on three things at once (which you need to use your hands for). One of my friends can do that and it's pretty cool.

For now I'm sticking to DDR though.

I've never heard of In The Groove, but 3 steps at once? Wow. I can barely pass heavy with a decent grade. pinch.gif

Psh, I'm old school. I STiLL only play DDR. That and Tekken 5. I play no other games mostly b/c I know if I start one and get into it...I'll become obsessed. I've tried pump it up before...ehh, wasn't that great. And Guitar Hero? I refuse to get sucked in. :)
hmm_dragon
haha DDR we had contests here!! we always did the spins, switch, laying down, using our hands.. what ever u can pretty much think of!! i should start playing it again!! hmm
MiSSxMELON
Yeah, there are some contests where I live but I've never been to one.

There aren't any where I live (not that I know of, anyway). cry.gif I would so enter one (and suck horribly). cry.gif

Haha. Yeah, pretty much. XD.gif ALTHOUGH I have to admit I love playing "Dance Dance" despite my contempt for Fall Out Boy. THE STEPS ARE SO MUCH FUN. Then again, it's probably because "Breakdown" is one of my favorite songs ever.
kryogenix
Breakdown is mad fun.
kimmytree
I got the Karaoke version for Christmas... but I never play it anymore. I dont even have the microphone for it. XD.gif

It's too much physical activity for me to be anywhere near enjoyable. My idea of fun is being able to sit on the couch and use a controler, not jumping around on some pad.

There are way too many threads for DDR. Could a mod please merge them with this one?

Supernova is weird...I played "Dance Dance" by Fall Out Boy on it. It's fast, about 220 BPM, but I was on light so it was really easy. It's just odd playing popular songs in DDR.

Haha, I don't think any of my teachers play DDR. That's cool.

Arjuna, thanks for merging.

Welcome. _smile.gif

The only DDR era I was really into was while DDR MAX 2 and DDR EXTREME were out. I haven't really bothered to purchase any of the others.

I've heard Max 2's steps were good but for better songs, you should choose Extreme 2. Is that true?
Simba
^ Yeah, the Max 2 steps are pretty good.

As far as songs compared to Extreme 2? I have no clue because I've never played Extreme 2. I personally like the songs form Max 2 better than Extreme (1) though.
austinoutloud
i would have to say that max2 definently has better songs than extreme, but im pretty sure there a better songs on extreme 2 than max2. i havent unlocked all the songs on extreme 2 so its hard to say

and they have dance dance on supernova?

Lol, but it's not the entire song. I think maybe two minutes of it or so.

I've played "Doll" before. I don't remember how much I liked it but I think it was pretty good.

Haha, but metal pads would be something more bragworthy, no?

My friend has metal ones. >.< I wish I did too.
Simba
My friend here is pretty good at DDR and he's got metal pads. thumbsup.gif

Metal pads are too expensive, they cost like $500, no?

I think it depends, but at least $300. But they last basically forever unless you're so good that you break them. laugh.gif

Even if you can't do heavy, if you can get all the arrows right on light or standard you still look good for your level. thumbsup.gif

I just bought a metal pad for my birthday! It was about $200. pinch.gif Oii. I GOT TO PLAY ON A SUPERNOVA MACHINE. Oh my gosh.. dribble.gif We don't have them in Pittsburgh, so you'll have to excuse my nerdiness. XD.gif They didn't have "Dance Dance" on there, though!
