So yeah I was chillin at NYC saturday night wit my friend, it was like 11 PM. The game store was closed and already, people are sitting down on mats in front of the store camping out until midnight to get the nintendo wii. are you guys serious? please, it's A GAME .. seems like these people would die for the nintendo wii. I heard it was shitty anyways. These mexicans need a life (no racism intended, a lot of people that were camping out were mexican). why can't they just be patient? if they're out of stock, just wait until they're re-stocked like 2-3 months later ...

Yeah, but some people are impatient like that. There was a guy who got SHOT while waiting for some other gaming console (or was it the Wii? can't remember). And some poor guy had already bought his Wii and was walking out of Best Buy when some mob grabbed it from him, grabbed a sledgehammer, and crushed his precious Wii.

That's gotta suck though.

omg this si soo FUNNY apparently i was at the city during Saturday Night too and while i was at penn station around 3:00 am (wheneveryone was all boozed up and drunk waiting for the train to get home) ..... i saw like 5 people carry 10 pairs full of nintendo wiis

Wow, well I camped outside target to get a 360.. I was going to do it for the PS3 but there wasn't a great garentee of getting it so I left..

And for the Wii, there wasn't any lines at all here and then somehow by 12:40 everywhere that was still opened to sell them was sold out.

You just gotta accept the fact that some people have a serious, intense passion for games haha. I personally think it's cool how they camp out and line up to get it. It's like an adventure for them and I'm sure they have fun just trying to get this WII or ps3 or whatever.


If I was as obsessed with these game systems like they were, I think it'd be fun to camp out with friends to get it. It's probably worth it.


My friend and his girlfriend spent their anniversary waiting in line for hours and hours to get the WII and they had an amazing time.


One thing I think is crazy and stupid is when my friend's boyfriend's friend had two PS3's and he found this guy to buy one off of him for like $3000. Now THAT I think is just absurd. I mean don't you think it would've been worth saving the money just to wait a little bit for it to go in stock again so you can buy it for cheaper and save some money..

Plus, even people who preordered end up waiting outside, not realizing that people receive preorders based on what number they are in the line of preorders. Plus, there's probably a limited amount of preorders that can be taken online. The rest might have to be made at the store (i.e. GameStop)

StanleythePanda - Hi Kara! Exactly my point! It is their choice and they are passionate about it. My boyfriend waited in line, even though he has a PHOBIA of lines, he's very passionate about gaming. Plus, Wii is less than half the price of a PS3. Also, Some PS3's have broken down, and that sucks if it was $600 down the drain... Well, it practically IS $600 down the drain anyway for buying it. :P
