I've got a semi formal coming up and I was wondering, what exactly constitutes as semi formal? Any examples?

don't make it look to professional.
just wear a skirt with a nice shirt.
instead of a dress and heels.
maybe flats to go with it too?

Not too dressy I guess. Short dress or dressy top with skirt.
A blazer works well too, and some nice ballet flats.

Church is pretty semi-formal..

Semi-formal? A simple party dress, or a skirt with a nice top would suffice. And semi-formal shoes, don't forget.

go for a long jewel-colored tunic and some tights/leggings in a grey/black with pumps.
