Wow, this makes me seem lamer than I'd like, but I need help. I'm playing Pokemon Emerald and I haven't gotten that far and I'm kind of... stuck? Does anyone know what I need to get the HM Strength work or how to obtain the HM Cut? Anything would be nice, thanks.

anyways, i remember somewhere near the beginning of the game, you get a HM cut. i think you can buy them too.
for the HM strength to work, you have to have a certain pokemon that's able to use it.

Oh yeah, well... I got the HM Strength to work, I just needed to get a badge. I think I need the HM Dig though, and I had it too.. except I think I made one of my Pokemon forget it. And for Cut, I didn't get it anywhere. Hopefully, I'll figure it out soon.

Go into the house west of the Pokemon Center and speak with the guy there for HM01, Cut. You can't use it out of battle yet, but get it anyway.

and we couldnt just go up to water and press "A", oh no, we had to go up to water and hit "START" then "DOWN" and then "A" then go to a pokemon that could use surf and then hit "A" and then go to "SURF" and hit "A"
