I have just spent the majority of my day reading about a man Named John Titor...
Now this man claims to be from the year 2036....there is a book out about him and what he has talked about called The Tales of a Time Traveler...
Now what interest me the most about this stuff is that he goes into a lot of detail about a lot of thoeries i have read about before and i dunno you'll have to read it your self...but i honestly dont thing someone coming from the future coming to now is all that far off...
What you all think about it seriously?
Here is the site about John Titor

That would be bad.. lets say you go and destroy the blue prints for a LIGHTBULB... would we have light? and other things you can change.

time travel involves too many complications to be at all feasible in the near future.

Nah, not true. He's a fake and a weirdo...j/k. I just know he's a fake. Time travel can't happen.

If he's from the future, why the hell didn't he bring the lottery numbers wit him? What a dumbass.
I think that dude was just a bored attenshun wh0r3.
And what Jigga said just proves that he was fake. I mean, I would bring lottery numbers if I lived in a post-apocalyptic world.

Read through the thing a lil bit and most your questions are answered....no lottery because of this being a different Worldline/Timeline....
Also Time Travel isnt all that fa away considering that we kno how to do it the only problems is we dont have the energy sources to do it....so i dont think time travel is all that far off

you can slow relative time....but thats about it.
you cant go "back" or "forward" in it...it's not an actual substance. Just a measurement.

Don't we travel through time everyday?

Cuz otherwise we would be stuck where we are forever if we didnt... haha

I went to some discussion about time travel... it was pretty simple to understand, but its not possible... You have to go through some black hole that has another black hole at the end, or something like that... it was a long time ago i was told this

Jun 2 2004, 03:56 PM
too many complications... if i took a piece of music that mozart write, and went back in time, and instead of writing the piece, mozart just copied the music, who wrote the music? however, i do believe in that parallel universes thing... where there's another parallel universe that basically plays out each option of every choice we make....i forget what that one's called...

erfff....i jus got more confused an more weird topics in my head
stryker76
Jun 2 2004, 10:42 PM
Well yes the Black Hole theory isnt to far off the only problem is overcoming the Singularity.
Singularity is something along the lines ofr re-organizing you molecules into a staight line, which is done by the extreme gravity made by a black hole. Im not possitive on that so dont quote me.
Another thing is that time and space are measured as the same thing in physics today....Time-Space. This is because it fits together like that according to the rules of the String Theory as well as certain attempts at a Unifying Equation. So it is possible to travel through time. This in it self is because you are not actually traveling through time...just moving it around your self. Think of Time-Space as a single plane like ummm a sheet of paper. Now make a dot on the paper. Say that dot is you. ok now the shortest distance between ne one point is a straight line. so then how do you shorten that distance????
Well lets Say you want to go about 3 inches down the paper...so what do you do to shorten you staight line....fold the paper. You fold the paper so that the point at which you want to go is millimeters away from you...so now instead of goin 3 inchs you only moved a few millimeters. This is the basic ideology behind time travel. Instead of moving through time...Move Time around you...make a wrinjkle in time so that you are only traveling part of the way.....
Another Method to think of is how time is meassured. Time is measured be the movement of molecules. Did you now that if you molecules slow down everything around you seems to move faster and vice versa. As Einstein said...."Its all quite Relative" So then if you slow down your molecules enough then time will fly right by you....you will not age and you will end up in a new Timeline(not explaining that one yet)....
So No time travel is to hard to explain...and no its not to hard to try....but then again it is if you dont have the ablility to produce the hardware needed to do it...if you have ever takin a basic physics class and still are able to talk to you Physics teacher talk to them about it.....because Time travel may sound Sci-Fi...but may be more then what you think it is...much like Nano tech was 20 years ago.....or Space travel wah in the early 1900's.......

I noticed that he used Pearl Harbor as an example a couple times and it got me thinking, wouldn't he at the least bit mentioned one significant event that happened a few months after he left? I mean I'm sure he would mention it along the lines of this civil war and crap...
BTW if we were able to find a way to travel through time, wouldn't that mean we also made interstellar travel a whole lot easier? I dunno I must be talking crap again...

Yes Time and Space Travel are connected.....The only problems we have is the technology isnt there....
For once tho im glad to say this topic I can share a lot with because i just finishing reading a book called Hyperspace by the Univer. of Oxford's Theoretical Physics professor Michio Kaku....but ummm yeah he goes into more detail

Anything is possible. The chance of having humans figure out how to do it however, is a slim to none chance. Even if mortals found a way to do it, i'd be afraid somebody would undo some of the important aspects of history. What if people who were anti-semetic traveled back to Nazi Germany and somehow made Hitler stronger? eeek... I shudder at the thought.

Time travel is theoretically possible. There are just far too many paradoxes for it to be feasable right now. I think it can happen, I just think that it may take a longer amout of time than for it to happen any time in the near future.

time travel is amazing personally i am interested in it. but only for going to the future. i would hate for people to go to the past because you can really affect our future. like if you took out somethings in history like assassinations or the holocaust,, cause if you took those out maybe we would change dramatically.

therefore a proton can travel in time.

Shut up! You luck dog. Man, I would love to see one of those bad boys in real life. The closest I've come to one (besde the movie, of course) is the knock-off in GTA: Vice City.

Well, if you think about it, time travel will never be possible because whoever invents it will realize it's a mistake and go back in time to ... stop himself from inventing it... Paradox, but just THINK.
... Deloreans are funny... I almost knocked my friend unconcious trying to open the door... heh.

I read quite a bit about this John Titor thing. In fact, I was writing a dramatized script about the tale, which is why I did so much research. If nothing else, the story is very interesting, and if it is fake, the perpetrator definitely did his homework in order to concoct such a story.
My feelings after research was that it was a hoax, albeit a very good one. However, there are some startling things about the story that make me wonder if it is true. Unfortunately, I don't have my notes handy right now, but suffice it to say that there are some pretty compelling facts in the story...

New research suggests that time travel is not a possibility. From
Slashdot:
QUOTE
The bad news is that time does not change. Spatial velocity is given as dx/dt. Velocity in time (dt/dt) is nonsensical. As simple as that. In other words, no time travel to the past or the future, no motion in space-time, no wormholes and no hanky-panky with your great, great grandmother. There is only the changing present, aka the NOW. The good news is that distance is an illusion and we'll be able to travel instantly from anywhere to anywhere.

I too am a time traveler from the year 3006. I was frozen on New Years 1999 and it took six years for me to earn enough credit chits to buy my way back into the present. Unfortunatley, I signed an NDA about all major and minor world events which haven't happened yet. Sorry about that.
