Nice entry Mark, from Guys & Dolls I think....
Wow, I'm still in this! 0.o Thanks lol, that's pretty cool
Though I don't feel worthy enough against Mark and Dani, but hey I'll give it a shot haha.
Um, Acapella round? Interesting...So basically any song we want, just without any music? Are there any other limatations besides that?

No, there aren't. Just.. no music at all. And no rapping.

And Tina, you've disappointed me.. I REALLY wanted to rap.

But seriously.. This is gonna be tough, there are a million songs I could choose for this..

well they're gospel-ish. And the songs you sang aren't a capella. You sang them in a capella style but originally they had music at the bg... didn't they?
Anyways as for what Tina said. It's partly accurate. If you read definition # 2 it says kind of like chapel music and such and such... I mean if the genre was just sing with no instruments at the background, might as well sing twinkle twinkle

Oct 3 2006, 11:43 PM
wait....so it has to be a hymnal type song.....?
churchy feel basically?
do I know any songs like that?
I guess like Ave Maria or something.
More classical style. And by classical I mean, like Italian and things.
something Charlotte Church would sing or Josh Groban on his good days?
ParanoidAndroid
Oct 4 2006, 02:45 PM
^yeah. Anything with a church-feeling. If you ABSOLUTELY can't find anything, I guess I'll count any song sang without bg music... but we would please want all of you to sing under the category.

Oct 5 2006, 09:34 PM
so basically "Choral Music" Choir Music with background voices ? but i thought we couldnt add in bg voices ...if you meant background voices regarding the original songs , and you want us to change and sing with our own voices we can do that .
im still confused on you guys want wanting to sing Acapella . because basically you can sing Acapella for any genre ...or you shoudlve stated a different term . but you what would be
more fun and thrilling giving us individual specific songs to sing . your pic for each and one of us . EACH judge = )

^church-like but no bg voices... who said there should be? you know how some church/chapel songs have a large range? sometihng like that. or you can just sing the soloist part without the harmony

umm... a capella literally means "like in the chapel" but that doesnt actually mean sing church music. it means sing like they do; which is without accompaniment.
if you want them to sing church music then just say gospel music. jesus.
i was in the a capella choir in highschool and we sang shit like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, and Christina Aguilera....
suffice to say, that's not gospel music.
the only actual similarity between a capella and real chapel music is that they sing without accompaniment; instead using their voices to replace instrumentals.

yah true. I heard an acapella group sing Bohemian rhapsody, it was so great. loved it.
i also heard them sing "aint no mountain high enough." and "stand by me"...
But i'm still confused now......
can we do whatever we want acapella?
or does it have to be classic italian pieces bascially?
or are you thinking gospel?
or are you picking songs for us?

gah

while you're at it, you should look up what a harmony is.

Okay, here. I was 2 seconds in not doing this competition, wayy to busy to sing,
i've been getting no sleep, and my voice is absoloutly shot, so i was going to pull out.
But here is something really fast, really short, and enough to get me by with an entry.
kinda different too, but hey, I didn't have the time to do a slow song, sorry

Someone close. Tina's going to make the new topic soon. Guys, if you can't get an entry in, it's alright. We're not totally upset. You don't have to go through all the trouble to list reasons/excuses. By the way thanks for submitting Katie ^_^.
