I think for myspace. you guys should have a download link and to be able to download the page they have to input their myspace screen name on it. Because i mean, that way i can track down my jocker easier. I've found at least 3 jockers this week and it's really pissing me off.

I don't get it?

I'm guessing you mean MySpace layouts here? You can put your name on an image or add text that identifies that layout as yours before submitting it.

I don't quite understand the first part of your paragraph. pinch.gif

I think she means she wants to have a tracker on the download page for myspace layouts? Or have some sort of identification on the people who download the layouts?

Mona: People can easily remove it. All they need is photoshop and backspace. shrug.gif

i mean like to download a layout they must input their myspace link in.

^why not just add your own name to the images?

Input a link as well for credit and put your name or site name or whatever on to the image, thats what a lot of people do.

Um.. this ties in with this thread; getting jocked is just a risk you take when you decide to put anything on the internet. Like it's already been stated a few times in this thread, you place your name on the images you create; you can also include a disclaimer in the css of your coding, since most (if not all) jockers don't really look through it. But there really is no guaranteed way to avoid being jocked other than just not putting your work up in public.

^ You mean in Internet Explorer - as far as I know, yes.

I do wish we knew exactly who downloads those skins, but oh well.. it's too much to ask.

Rachael, are you serious? I thought ms doesnt read encoded html. mellow.gif
digital.fragrance
It reads it for xanga - you now, that really simple encoding. I don't see why it wouldn't work for myspace.
demolished
i f**king love you.

I'm going to try it out.
digital.fragrance
Yay someone loves me! throb.gif

Tell me how it goes...
demolished
blink.gif it doesnt work. MS doesnt allow the term, "document" or javascript.
digital.fragrance
^ Aw poop. It allows everything else, right?
demolished
Not encrypted codes.

i dont know if it allows everything else.
there are certain html terms that are blocked out.

But, it's okay. you're loveable. throb.gif
digital.fragrance
Well, this works.
demolished
I'm not sure. I was using code house encoder. It didn't work.

How did you do it, Rachael? eyebrowes.gif What are your secrets? omg.gif Haha.
digital.fragrance
Well... that encoder has always worked for me, and I use IE
Azarel
The codehouse encoder and the cB encoder do the same thing; the encoded html works in xanga, but not myspace.
demolished
How come it works for her?
Azarel
Because she's using it on xanga, not myspace.
demolished
I'm really confused. We were talking about encoder for myspace .. the whole time.

How did you know that she was using it for xanga? blink.gif

She didn’t say it. She was saying ... why it wouldn’t work for myspace. pinch.gif

I think you misunderstood. _unsure.gif

She says it works for xanga, and she doesn't know why it wouldn't work for myspace (but it's implied that she doesn't know for sure).

Then she says:

I think she meant it for myspace.

She doesn't specify; I assume she meant xanga, seeing as how she doesn't use encoded html on her myspace (and it'd make sense that she would, if it did work there). shrug.gif You can ask her.

In any case, back on topic... yeah.. jocking is pretty much unvoidable..
demolished
She doesn’t use encoded html on Xanga either.

In this case, you're right. I don’t think it's possible to have encoded html on myspace yet.
