Has anyone read it? We started it in English today but didnt get that far. I havent decided if I like it or not yet

I read it last year for American Lit. I enjoyed it. What part are you at thus far? I'd want to state my views on it, but I don't want to give anything away. Meh. In my class, it was about 50-50 when the teacher asked if we enjoyed it or not.

my teacher didn't teach us anything i read it during my sophmore year it was okay to me I wasn't crazy about it, but I didn't hate it. If you read Our Town, here's a warning its insanely BORING!. haha

The Crucible is fantastic!

If you get ay chance, go and see it on stage... the performance i saw was excellent.

Interesting side note, my frined and i began a play on a modern day version of the crucible...

I know we got to page 32. We're a little past where Abigal tells Proctor that she still loves him and that he loves her.

There is such a history behind that book. About Arthurt Miller and Marilyn and oh my goodness why must these people have so much drama?

Anywho, we're reading that as well. It looks good so far, the commentaries get kind of annoying, but I really want to see the play itself.

We're reading it too. We're listening to it on tape and reading the book and just..there is so much screaming on the tape. They get serious drama.

I saw the movie on HBO? And I read the Cliff Notes. We had to read the Cliff Notes for a project so yea. I enjoyed it alot. I think I should read the whole thing soon since we aren't going to read it for English class.

Its good though.

He was a brilliant playwright (among other things, in my opinion).

Eep. The one with Winona Ryder? Ok, it wasn't that bad, it's just that Winona Ryder gives me the ticks when I watch anything she's in (other than BeetleJuice and Heathers).

ok, so i just got freaked out... i opened a draw, and there was a copy of the crucible, right as i was about to view this thread.

evidently, my brother has to study it this year.

That he was. I recently watched a biography on him, it was fascinating. His work stands for so much more than I imagined.


I've read The Cruible twice during high school. I personally enjoy it.

i read it and listened to it on an audio casette type at the same time. the casette really helped get me into it.

i think it's great.

i read it as a sophomore. or actually, my class read it aloud as the play. um, it was fairly interesting.

I read it last month for English class and I liked it.
But I don't like the movie because it's not enough suspense.

John Proctor dies.

I read it last year... the book was decent, but the movie was really boring. And the ending was sfijer8u8yshgriuy.

We finished it quite a few weeks ago, but I liked the book. I actually like the movie, it's one of the better book adaptations out there, imo. Has anyone seen the The Front with Woody Allen? It's actually an homage to The Crucible, and it's kinda funny too.
