i don't have a source because it happened in my town and i was in teen court (i volunteer) and they told us about it.





Amy got caught shoplifting on the base and her parents were called and everything. they went home and she was grounded.the next morning her mom went to wake her up for school and she wasn't there so she called the police to say she had run away and they searched for four hours and then they found her at a local park. she was hanging from a tree. she had commited suicide.



when they told us that i got so sad. i didn't know the girl but i had seen her in school. im just so sad that she did this.

Thats pretty dumb of her to do that, if she actually commited suicide because she got caught and was punished for her own consequences. Its called life.

I suppose its sad at how it ended, and she could have choosen a better choices.

Yeah, but they didn't actually kill themselves because of shoplifiting in that movie. Then again, they didn't kill themselves in the first place. Anywho, if there was that risk in shoplifting and she knew herself she'd be really upset if her parents ever found out.. why did she do it?

Stupid girl... really stupid. Reminds me of a brilliant Bulgarian poet who killed herself because she thought she had disappointed her parents.. I cannot believe someone would do that. She was only 17 and she was just amazing.

One of my history teachers lives out in the middle of nowhere (It's WI so pretty much everywhere is the middle of nowhere). And some guy had went missing and a few months later, after winter, they found him and he was in the wooded area of my teachers property.

There was also a time when I was really little and was with my mom and some guy hung himself in a tree by a development, where pretty much anyone could see him. I'll never forget it because we were one of the first cars the stopped and he was still hanging there. And oh boy.

Anyways, yes, she could have done something different. But you never know it could have just been the icing on the cake. There might have been some other things going on and the shoplifting was what just put her to the edge and she decided to take her own life. Usually suicides are a build up of things.

yeah i just found out more about it she hung herself with a leather belt and she thought she could cut herself down so she brought a knife and she tried to cut herself down but she couldn't and she started screaming but no one heard her! makes me sad! oh and guess what she hung herself at the park next to the cemetary!! that's weird! lol!

I suspect there may have been more issues going on with her besides the fact that she was caught shoplifting. Such a sad story.

Wow, maybe she thought the punishment would be like way harsher than it was? Seriously, she could have just learned from that experience and become a better person and have that story to share. She didn't have to.. kill herself. Could you imagine? She's in her bedroom pacing the floor, freaking out about what she just did. She feels like her life will only go down the drain so she sneaks out the window. She runs to the park, climbs up, and ties the rope, putting it around her neck, and then kills herself. Thinking about it makes me feel so bad for her. She could have been someone. Man, that really sucks. And imagine how her loved ones must feel.
