Full Version: Does this irritate anyone else in music videos??

I've been wondering why music videos seem to be getting worse and worse and lack substance. Even with an interesting storyline, something is just lacking there to me.

Okay, anyone noticed a lot of music videos today have a lot of things going on as far as the camera goes? Every 1-2 second the camera is somewhere else. I don't know what to call it when the camera is moving from place to place. Am I the only one who is highly irritated by it and thinks that music videos will be better without all of that? Especially when dancing is involved, they never show the whole body anymore, just part of it, or they just focus on a face, a boob, tummy, or booty. And you miss A LOT of stuff. Totally weird question but I am wondering if anyone else noticed this also. Compared to a lot of great music videos from a long time ago and now, today there is A LOT of camera "movements" (or w/e.) Mkay. kiss.gif

No becasue I watch music videos occassionally. The last one I watched was pretty fly for a white guy and I thought it was hilarious and not missing anything really. XD.gif

LOL, I love the song and the video is great but that video is older so that's why. A lot of these newer videos tend to do that camera crap.

Yeah I with you on that. Its expecially evident in hip hop videos. I kinda stopped watching videos after the tip trill video. It made me want to kill myself. yeah. But there are some that still have a good feel to them. The reason I even like panic at the disco and all american rejects was the direction in their videos. When I saw the move along video I was stunned. I didnt even listen to the song I was just mesmerized. Also they tend to not use a lot of long shots to give the feel of speed, usually used iwth uptempos so you get the feel of chaos that is represented in the snare and hit hat, just like you would be in the club. also a good video was Beyonces me myself and I video. That was cool how it was all backwardsy. But yeah most videos with a lot of short cut scenes thingies are in hip hop, where its all about money and bitches. makes me sick.

The older music videos are good, like the one Ian said. but I honestly don't remember how that one went.

The newer music videos are pretty bad though, they seem to be missing something in a way. They need new directors.

theyre kinda like b-adult movies they show at night on tv. Overlit and terrible acting and people only pretending to get some. :D

Well..to be honest, I have to agree with J'anelle. I seriously think that this USUALLY just applies to hip-hop & rap videos...which I usually don't really watch all that often.

I'm not saying ALWAYS, just usually.
