homecoming's a school thing, right?
my homecoming's at the end of september...
which means that 3/4 of the girl population in school will be adorned with gigantic mums that jingle and make all sorts of really annoying sounds. and the remaining 1/4 will be wearing anti-mums or anti-homecoming shirts that are just plain stupid, b/c wth is the point of an anti-mum? it's like "let's stop conforming by conforming! yay!"
anyways...
I'm excited.
It's senior year, FINALLY, and I am DETERMINED to have fun at homecoming and not be one of the losers who sit home and watch old romantic movies.
the only problem is that I have yet to find a date. oh well. who needs one?
When's your homecoming? Are you excited?

October. But we don't have dances in college. We just go to parties and get really drunk to celebrate Homecoming.

I am perfectly alright with being a loser.I'm a senior, and haven't been to a a school dance, period.
Freshman year, I couldn't go to homecoming because the seniors in band decided it was more important for us to go to a competition.
Sophomore year I went to see a movie and then had dinner and hung out at Starbucks..
Last year our bowling in pajamas night got combined with someone else's anti-homecoming party, so I went to those instead.
(And I didn't go to prom because it sounded like absolutely no fun at all without a date.)
I'm not sure if I'm going to bother going this year, either. The homecoming game isn't until October 20th, anyway.

October.

I'm a football player so of course I like Homecoming. I've gone every year even when I was in middle school.

Small school. I know schools like that and they have 13 or 14 grades. (pre-k - 12)

My friend's cousin goes to a school with 30 kids per grade, literally everyone in her class is who she has for every single period.
Homecoming! It's fun, and voting and all that. But every year we never have a guy freshman that wins, they all drop out.

Mine's Sept. 30... I guess I'll go.
There's only 21 Juniors, and 13 seniors, so its going to be small. I think my class is going to rent a limo and ride together as a group.
I dont have a date yet though.

My school has the same thing! Its usually pretty fun. The friday before homecoming, we decorate our classrooms, do skits, and compete against each other.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited cause everyone says I have the best chance at being Homecoming King, haha. Other people nominate you, which I don't like because I really don't want to win but I guess it'll be fun anyway.
Plus, Spirit Week is gonna be CRAZY.

I was debating between going to this and Winter Ball. The homecoming dance is held on my birthday too, so I kind of prefer hc more.

Our Homecoming is on October 20th. I can't wait! The day will consist of: a rally (before lunch), a parade (after school), the Varsity football team playing against Sequoia (yikes!), and a dance. It's not a formal dance tho. The first formal dance we have is Winter Ball. Also during the course of the week is spirit week.

I'm planning on going to homecoming this year, considering: It's my junior year and one of my good friends is moving to Hawaii, and homecoming is the last chance that we'll all have as a group to hang out together.

The theme for our homecoming this year is,
A Night For A Princess. Very cute.

Lol.

The "school spirit" in my school pretty much dissappeared with last year's seniors. So the student council thought it would be a "great idea" to have EVERY SINGLE EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY nominate a Duke & Duchess.
So, we have
Freshman: Lady & Knight
Sophomore: Princess & Prince
Junior: Duke & Dutchess
Senior: King & Queen
then...
Band: Duke & Dutchess
Orchestra: Duke & Dutchess
Key club: Duke & Dutchess
etc, etc, etc.
it's so ... weird and different and ... lame.

Even Key club gets to vote? Sure, whatever floats your boat. But honestly, that's way too many people for the royal court.
For us:
Seniors: King and Queen
Seniors: Prince and Princess
Juniors: Duke and Dutchess
Sophomores: Baron and Baroness
Freshman: Lady and Knight

Lawl Jeffrey shutup no you don't/won't.

Are you going with Isabelle this year?

< HAHA That smiley always makes me laugh. I dunno why.
The theme this year for homecoming is "board games". It's not a great theme, and our school spirit is rather lacking.

I'm not too excited.

Yeah, I know.
But that's the stupid student council, trying to get everyone pumped. I think we've got enough spirit, but everyone's so eager to beat out all the other high schools in the area in everything...
So we normally have a Bonfire around HC, but since the high school across the highway wasn't allowed to have one, they complained and so this year we have some weird street dance thing instead of a bonfire.

Hah. Mums.
It's this big round thing that's about the size of a frizbee with ribbons hanging down from it. It has cute toys, stuffed animals, cow bells, lettering - most of the time your name and your date's name, and odds and ends hanging off.
It's... very festive.

That's a mum.
But the girls in my school tend to go crazier and make them bigger than that.
And here's a garter (what the guys wear)

It looks like a mum, but it's smaller and goes around the guy's arm.
A mum hangs from the girl's neck.

No homecoming in college! I'm indifferent towards it because I wouldn't go to a dance or party anyway. Too busy commuting to be staying that late at school when it takes me an hour to get home.
