what does a guy mean when he says

"i'd go out with you but i wouldn't ask you out."?

I guess it means he would be too shy to ask you out but he likes you? It could also mean "Sure, I guess I'd go out with you if you were the last person on earth, but I wouldn't ask you out voluntarily"?? I have no clue, thats kinda weird (and I don't mean to distress you with the last theory). Why don't you just go ask him what he meant.

Maybe he only wants to be friends..? As in.. only 'go out with you' to hang out? Why don't you.. ask him?

not I'd go out with you but I wouldn't ask you out..

Little odd, perhaps he just meant he would just hang out with you as friends like Kathleen said, does sound like a high possibility. Or it could be something that doesn't make any sense at all like I'd go out with you but I don't want to ask you out to make it happen so you have to ask him out.

I have to say being a guy myself, I have never thoguht or ever heard such a line spew out....

Now here is the only thing that I can think of and I have no idea how old you are whatnot..

but it sounds like the ol I will have sex with you, but would not date you u...and it is not anything to do with you it is him he just wants to get the goods with out the package kinda thing.
