i dont know about you guys, but most of the time, it seems like they're just CONVERSATIONS taking place. i mean, if you do something like n____i, and the person replies back, it wouldnt really be "anonymous" anymore right

Perhaps they should put the first and last letter of the name
and just leave it completely blank?

oh well it just seems like most of the shoutouts directed there are obvious. then there are people replying back in the same "anonymous" form. then it goes back and forth back and forth...

It's one of the rules that isn't always followed. It will just have to be enforced more. Thanks. :)

^ it doesnt really need to be enforced... the whole thing is meaningless anyway, unless people have an idea of who each thing is for.

Why not just PM the person, though, if it's a direct shoutout?

Anonymous shoutouts = Tradition.

There is a tongue in cheek aspect to the Anonymous Shoutouts. A majority of the time you can tell who is being referred to, especially if you know who talks to who for the most part. So even though it's "Anonymous", you can't help but seem blatent (even if not intended) in who you are talking to.

Having said that, the conversations are annoying. I mean seriously, with AIM, SKYPE, IRC, PMing ,etc available, is it totally necessary to carry on in Anonymous Shoutouts?

the thing is, anon shoutouts are one place where the conversations DONT bother me... i mean, wat are they getting in the way of, exactly?

If anything, it almost makes it less spammy. Like the what are you listening to thread. James and I tried to prove a point in there once, but it didn't really ever work.

That doesnt work at all. No matter how annoying it is. There's nothing anyone can do about it. Not even a moderator can prevent that from happening.
