Well If you mix two genes together you get the product, Your Offspring. Now I'm going to skip all that chromosome stuff and skip to the actual point. When two adults have sex, they both have two completely different types of DNA(Deoxyriboneuclicacid, just in case you didn't know)
So when those two mix together they create you, a god product. Now, if your genes(which contain both your mothers/fathers DNA)Mix with either parent, the product will get effed up(to sum things up)

My science teacher said having a child with a relative is bad because the bad genes in your family will mix in. I really didn't get that. But incest is soo wrong on soo many levels. I don't know. I guess it worked for Egyptians.

Yeah, heredity stuff. Without getting technical, let's just say that the offspring will have an increased risk in health problems that run through the family, including recessive genes and the likes. Something along the lines of that.
