Is it normal to sleep beyond your usual limit at once?
Like .... 15 hours straight w/out waking up.

Sure, I've done that many times. We all need a nice long beauty sleep once in a blue moon. As long you're not constantly sleeping for 15 hours straight or with breaks. Too much sleep isn't a good thing.

Recent studies suggest that less than six hours of sleep can be detrimental to a person's health. The big surprise is that the same study also suggests that
sleeping nine or more hours a night can be a danger to your health.
Another thing I've heard is that getting too much sleep can increase your risk of getting Diabetes.

Hey, this reminds me of something I was meaning to figure out. For some reason, no matter how late I sleep, if I don't have school, then I always wake up at around 8:30 a.m. Almost every single morning this summer. Usually I go to sleep after finding out that it's 8:30, and let's say I slept at around 3 or 4 that night. Is that normal or is it just me?

this thread scares me.
>_>;
I sleep around 9 hours on school days, but during this summer, i've been sleeping for about 12-16 hours.
I've even slept for 18 hours this one day I was really really sick.

Do you still feel tired after waking up?

8 hours of sleep is how much you should have every night. I get about 9 or 10.. some nights depends what is up for tomorrow.

Well, whether you get too little or too much sleep, you will still feel tired and drowsy.
The increase in body fat percentage is true. Even worse if you go to sleep right after eating, especially after a big meal.

Hah, that's what I was about to say.
I sleep more than 12 hours a day now 'cause I'm really bored.. I don't care if it's bad for your health or not. The few times I've ever slept 15+ hours straight was 'cause I pulled 5-3 allnighters in a row with coffee.

normal is 8-10 hours. my mom says if you sleep over that, you're considered " dream sleeping. " and sometimes she changes it to " drunk sleeping. " wierd.

I do that on the weekends to make up for the sleep I lose during the weekdays. -shrugs- I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
