Not exactly a domain, subdomains work fine too. You just need mysql .

You need a host which allows it and mysql basically. You don't need to purchase your own domain, but if you did it would be to your benefit I guess. Or if you have a friend w/ a domain and mysql you can see if they can host you for free. People w/ domains ccan host your mb for free.
You can check out this free host I believe they host them?
http://www.xmb-host.com/You can learn about buying domains , etc in these topics:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showforum=72http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112478http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=105372http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=146226Most are about hosting , because with a domain you have to purchase or get hosting. You don't need to know much about mysql to have a forum. Its good to know it though. All you really need to know is how to make a database , which depends on where your hosted.
But if you want extra info:
I guess you can learn
http://www.mysql.com/ . There.

You need to ask for teh host of your subdomain to make you a mysql databse. Then you need to tell him/her to give you the information.
Then download the forum script, and follow the instructions.

ok i was just wondering if i was to continue making my mb..
- how much disk space would I need?
- how much data transfer or monthly bandwidth would i need?
- is 10 MB/database good enough?
Instead of being hosted I bought a domain name from godaddy.com and I'm such a noob.. I want to make sure this
free hosting plan is not scam, how do I do that?

The only way to make sure the freehosting is not a scam is to google reviews of the site, and try to find people that well use it so then you are sure its not fake.
10mb for a databse is ok, but if you get a big forum, I doubt it. I'm hosting a small one for a friend with currenty about 60 members. Its using a little over 3 mb. If you get a huge one, you might need more than 10 , but for a small it should be fine.
Bandiwth the small forum is using about 30mb a day. So when you estimate that for a whole cycle , its about 800 something? considering how much they use a day. Basically I barely get what I just said, but I recommend you have atleast 1g or 2gb to be safe. This one girl I know has a larger forum, and she says it never reached 5gb. So a couple gb like 2 should be good for you. That free plan you have linked would do just fine.
But you know you only have 1 database so use it wisely.
I'm currently hosting an mb and about 11 other people. Out of that 11 , I'm hosting one girls domain and we are 199mb. So um I think that free plan shoud be enough space if not you shoud have some backup pans.
