Paint Shop Pro isn't so bad. I had a 30-day trial version and it is a good cheaper alternative to Photoshop, even if it doesn't have most the powerful rendering tools and options found on PS CS.
But I prefer PS for th eoptions, the intergration of ImageReady, GoLive, and most Macromedia products.

I would prefer Photoshop. I used Paint Shop Pro when I first started and then moved to Photoshop. Paint Shop Pro isn't bad at all, it is very similar to Photoshop but to me, Photoshop is a lot better.

photoshop is what is used in more professional environments as opposed to psp... i`ve been using psp ever since i began doing this stuff 5 years ago and i`ve never turned my back on it, haha.... but lately, i`ve been depending on illustrator for my design needs, which is similar to ps, so i dunno o_O.... but between those two? my heart will always belong to psp.. how cheezy.

i used PSP before when i just started out. but now i use PS and it`s way better if you wanna actually learn creative things. when i used PSP there were brushes that are already made for you and you download them and what do you create in that? people have similar things if they use PSP. well usually.

photoshop is definitely the best editing graphic editor out there. unfortunally, it's very complicated to use.......i can't do anything with it unless there's a step by step instruction on how to do something. i'm more comfortable with macromedia fireworks...getting the simple projects finished easily.

I prefer Paint Shop Pro.
I got Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro in Vietnam, its cheap there. One U.S dollar is about 15,000 D there. ^^ You can buy a few tins of candy, a haircut, or something equal to that with a dollar there. ^^
I like Paint Shop Pro, because it's pretty easy to use and you can find what color code things are and you can also undo as many times as you want. You can't on Photoshop, at least on version 5.0 you can't. I have Photoshop 7.0, but my computer is Windows 1998, and you need Windows 2000 or higher to install it.

i have both PSP and PS but i had PSP a lot longer than PS. to me PSP is easier to use but you can't really do a lot with it. PS is a bit confusing for me but they have a lot of brushes that look better than PSP. i usually download brushes for PS and transfer them to PSP. hehe.
