because when i use the polygonal lasso tool and go around it the edges always look jagged
PrincessAda
I used that tool a lot.
Just hit the shift button while going around.

ohh and remember to feather !
Just2Fresh
EDIT ^aff beat me too it.
n00b
how much should i feather?
PrincessAda
depends on the size of the image.
around 5-15.

Actually, for collages.... Feathering?

The polygonal lasso tool usually works fine as long as you use straight lines, it usually ends up fine. There's supposed to be a lot of overlap so... -shrug- You don't really notice.

But you could use the pend tool. Just a suggestion.
n00b
hmm yeah.
or would the lasso tool work good?
freeflow
Not the regular, that is too tough. But the polysomething that Reili said. That's perfect.
technicolour
I use the pen tool. I get better looks with that.

And why feather? I thought feathering was for the blending sides of things?
Gigi
Uh, if you feather with a polygonal lasso tool on a collage, then technically, it wouldn't be a collage. It'd be a blend. =\

I just use the polygonal lasso. If you're getting jaggedy edges, check if your "Anti-alias" is checked (it's next to the feathering px on the toolbar on top).
n00b
what settings should i use on the pen tool?
and thanks gigi

edit
kristina could you make me a screenshot of the pen tool settings?
Gypsy Eyes
DON'T FEATHER!!

I just use regular pen tool settings....

does it matter if the square thing isn't the overlapping ones?
because it wont let me change them -.-
and is the rest right?
technicolour
You need to select the 2nd pen option, instead of the first.

The ones on the left.
n00b
