I'm used to editting graphics with windows programs, but i resently got a mac and the only editting software I have is kodak iphoto and photobooth and they wont even allow you to put text on a pic as far as I can find. Can someone tell me a good program that is mac friendly because none of my older ones are. I would really appreciate it. Sorry if this needs to go somewhere else, too.

I am positive that Adobe Photoshop, the best photo editing program out there, can be used on a Mac. Go here for the trial download.

There's Gimp, another great program, and it can be used on a Mac as well. Click here.

I can't get gimp to work, it says I need x11 but when I go to install x11 I can't because I have a newer version of the same thing alredy on my computer. I also would rather have something I don't have to pay for like picassa or irfranview but neither of those work for mac.

I suggest photoshop. I have it on Mac its great. Its the only thing I use. You can get elements 2.0 , etc, for 60-100 dollars. Depending on where you go. Its a great start too.

For gimp , did you check their support forums? For anyone else with that problem.

I can't even find a support page on there. It's very confusing. They keep saying things about building the application but that's it. I'm very confused.
