hi i m melissa and i m14 i still cant swim, i need always floaties or life jacket cause im very afraid of drwning. Does anybody here in my case are those other non swimmers. Did you try floatation devices?
Kathleen
That HAS to suck, I'm sorry. Have you tried swimming lessons?
think!IMAGINARILY
haha, i'm 14 too and i can't swim either.
i don't use those floaties though, 'cause i'm not scared of drowning.
i like the pool 'cause i like to play in the water :) but then guys are always trying to dunk me, so i don't go anymore..

and as Kathleen said, swimming lessons would work. if you're scared of drowning, you have to learn to float without floaties first.
verbalistic
i can kinda swim

Floaties are stupid. Use a kickboard.
xchrystizzle
before you try swimming lessons try to get over the fear of drowning, or else it might be kinda hard to learn to swim. i have a friend just like you and she's tried swimming lessons but they never worked, she's to scared to make an effort...

i learned when i was like 2 because i loved the water, so now i can beat anyones ass, not to brag or anything.. whistling.gif

ya, I can swim....I live by the beach, though so its pretty common
but ya, I think you should try to get over your fear
and then go for some swimming lessons. Knowing how to swim
is important. ;)

If by floaties you mean those swimmies (the little blow up things that go on your arms) do NOT use them. They are really dangerous if you actually do almost drown.

Again, like other people said, try swimming lessons
emazing
No, but I used to swim with those little swimming surf board thingys [I honestly have no idea what they're called].
I know how to do the freestyle, and the butterfly stroke. They're both pretty simple.
The only technique that I can't get down is the backstroke.

I used to take swimming lessons back in like 4th grade or so, and I stopped after awhile. I lost any swimming skill I had, but I still remember some stuff lol.

hm. nope.
actually. not ever in my life. i would always be on my dads back while he swims. then when i was about 4 he taught me how to swim
Gigi
Take swimming lessons! You won't regret it.

I learned how to swim when I was around 4 or 5, and competed in a swim club for a number of years. It's great.
Looow
I can't swim AT ALL.

I can't even use a fuckiing kickboard, I'm too scared.

Two of my friends call me "Level 1" cus during swimming in P.E ... I was in Level 1.

I can't swim either. When I went to the pool, while all my friends were swimming and on the diving board and stuff, I would just walk around.

I'm 18 and I can't swim. mellow.gif

I can swim, but for some reason, I can't just float in place. I have to be swimming to float, even with devices sometimes. o.O It's okay to wear a life jacket or something if you're afraid of drowning, as long as you feel safe it's all right. =]

I haven't went swimming in a long while, but I took swimming lessons at the YMCA when I was younger, so yes, I can swim. I have trouble floating on my back, though... hm. Anyway, it is perfectly fine to use floatation devices, although it might also be a good idea to learn to swim without them, in case you ever need to do so in times of an emergency. :)
