I've always had the impression it made your eyes look droopy. I wouldn't say smaller.

My eyes look droopy if I wear gray eyeliner.

it does for me,but i naturally have small eyes so that doesn't make it any better.

uhm, i don't wear it ONLY on the bottom cause i think it looks gay on me. but when i put on my eyes like POP! but my eyes are naturally like big and like out there, lol.my eys are DARK brown so yeah.

no, that's not at all the case for me. my eyes look like so chinky without the stuff. but maybe it depends what color you use. i happen to use blue.

It really depends. If you have deep set, larger eyes, then eyeliner looks fine. It's not as overwhelming.

But say, if you're Asian and have more of a flat eye socket area, and the crease is less prominent and less of the eye is exposed, a full eye of liner is much too overwhelming. Yes, it will make the eye look smaller.

Just think about the optical illusions you've seen as a kid. I remember one where they show a black circle on a white background, and then a white circle on a black background. It asks you to choose the one that's bigger. Most everyone chooses the white circle, even if the circles are the exact same size.

Makeup is all about optical illusions.

I, for one, look like a whore if I put too much eyeliner on the bottom. Looking like a whore = no no.

Better to use eyeliner on the top lashline in a high concentration in order to create the illusion of a thicker lashline, which will open your eyes more.

That's just me. I just think that overusage of eyeliner looks like you're trying too hard. It's a bit too made-up for daytime.

It depends on how much you use, but I've never seen anyone whose eyes actually look bigger from using it. If you think your eyes look bigger, you're either imagining it or you have damn good eyeliner. But putting it on the top does widen your eyes.

i only put it on the bottom, i'm hopeless at putting it on the top...

actually for me it makes my eyes look bigger, if u want ure eyes to look wider, put some white eyeliner on the bottom or on the corners of the eyes.. it looks pretty and makes ure eyes look wider

I think eyeliner only makes your eyes smaller when you put them on the top and bottom.

If you use eyeliner on the bottom inner corners it makes your eyes look slightly smaller.

Otherwise it doesn't.

It depends on how your eyes are and how much and how you apply it. The way I apply mine, it makes my eyes look bigger people tell me.

Whenever I wear eyeliner, my eyes look tiny. My mom told me my eyes look more Asian-y when I wear it.

It depends on the kind of eye you have...asian eyes without the double eyelid look loads smaller with eyeliner on.

if you share eyeliner with other people then you are putting yourself at risk for diseases because it goes on your eyes and if they have germs on their hands then it goes on to your eyeliner and then you put it on your eyes. so don't share your eyeliner. im a germophobe so i know like all that useless sometimes usefull info.

Don't share makeup. Period. It's a great way to pass around bacteria and get infections. Do you really want your friend's shedded off epithelial tissues on your face?
