Yep, its bad to.
First of all; if you ask a friend to tell him, the word spreads around and *BAM* rumors may start and maybe everyone will keep coming up to you, to hear what you have to say about it. Second, my friend who's a guy said that it makes the guy feel special that you have a crush or like him. And like everyone stated, it makes it personal.
Aww, well just ask him to go outside with you, then tell him.
does he go to your school?

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a bad thing.
It's just that telling him yourself would be better because then he wouldn't consider the following possibilites:
1. You're playing mind games with him.
2. Your friends are lying.
3. Maybe you really do like him, but why couldn't you tell him yourself? He may think you're a coward.
Also, things starting off between you, him, AND your friends isn't as good as things just starting off between you and him. If you like him, you should tell him yourself.
Hope things work out.

you really have to trust your friend that you tell it to; b/c they can sometimes twist the story ;
w/ me, my friends were there for me 100%.. this had recently happened to me. my friends told my crush like two months ago [may] that i liked him. i thought he didnt like me, we did hug and everything [talk ofcourse]. then later on there were rumors that he was gonna ask me out [which i found hard to believe] --- it was then when he asked me out on my bday ! i was so happy lol [we'r still together too

i'm probably one of the most shyest people you will ever meet.
its so hard for me to talk to guys, and he's shy too and he told my best friend [one im getting to tell him] that he really liked me a lot but this was in february.

Yeah, it's really bad to do that... It basicly tells him you are too afriad to talk to him...
If it was me I would think about all these other things *this is a thought stream*:
-If I get in realationsihp with this girl it will never last.
-If we ever have an issue in our relationship how will she handle it...
-Most likley she will shy away from every problem we could possibly have...
-Problems are inevitable in relationships...
-Yet, people think that there is such a thing as a perfect relationship...
-Haha... what if she needs to tell me something relaly important...
-She'll probably have her freind tell me...
-Yeah, and then I won't be able to get down to the nitty gritty becuase I'm not hearing it from the source...
-This girl is a coward...
-she's not ready for a relationship..
^thats the sequence of thought that would run through my head....

yes i would say its bad...
and i hate that wen ppl do that...like my friend made me go ask her crush for his aim....and she wanted me and my other friend to go tell him that she likes him....even tho we r like totally no talking about my friend and stuff..like it annoys me and i think it is better off u telling ur crush u like him...instead of making ur friend tell him...

YES! It shows a weakness, that you're scared and if you really like him and yet you're scared you're never going to get anywhere.

if YOU really like HIM, you should be able to tell him yourself. you can't have a relationship through a pact of messengers for you.
