You know those moments in anime where.. this song/musical piece plays out of nowhere to bring out the effect.
I don't remember which anime it was but there were many animes when there was a huge battle and whenever something was destroyed or someone was killed classical piano pieces would play... it really brings it out

Q: What is the piece of music played in episode 14 while Mugen is having his near-drowning experience? Where can I get it?
A: That is "Obokuri-Eemui" (Babel Fish translation: "Obtain Bearing"), performed by traditional Okinawan singer Ikue Asazaki, from her 2002 album "Utabautayun" (Babel Fish translation: "Morning Promontory"). It became an instant favorite of Champloo fans when the episode was aired and has been made available as a sound file through various fan forums; it may be again at any time. However, we do honestly recommend that you buy the album, which is all just as hauntingly beautiful as "Obokuri-Eemui". It can be found through a number of online music dealers, including CD Japan (they have the best price), Amazon Japan, HMV Japan and elsewhere. It has not appeared on any of the Champloo soundtrack albums, and it probably will not do so in future.
Or, if you'd just like to hear it again by itself,
here you go .

Yes, I love it <3
I love how it's so diverse...there's Japanese, English, and then that French-Japanese language that Yoko Kanno made up for some of the songs.
And there's all the different styles of songs...*sigh*.
I also like FLCL's music. The J-rock is pretty cool, and works perfectly with the show.

Spirited Away in particular had one of the most amazing soundtracks I've ever heard. I recently purchased a CD which has music inspired by the movie, which I now have a standing affair with. According to my ITunes playcount, I've played the third track, 神々さま(Gods) 165 times so far... If you're familiar with the movie, it's the song from the Bath house with the lovely Shamisen playing in the background.
But really as a collective all of Studio Ghibli's productions have amazing soundtracks so... meh...
