I haven't seen a post of this movie so I decided to post one up since I saw it already.

Here's a link to what the story is about for people who are sensitive to spoilers.

Plot

I thought that the movie was corny in both acting and plot. The choreo and cars were up to par though I didn't like that one scene where a busy crosswalk suddenly gets out of the cars' way and makes a perfect L to drift through. It was cool but not believable. If you like 350z's you will love this movie. _dry.gif I just was clenching my teeth with all the damage being done to the cars (especially with Shawn) and not to mention the horrible accents. No not the japanese actors, the regular "english" characters with southern accents and aussie accents. Not to mention a japanese guy with the british accent, but he rarely speaks. Sorry I just have a thing about several different accents in one movie. So don't expect much when watching this movie other than cool cars and cool races. But do be ready to cover your ears if they are sensitive. And yes Vin Diesel makes a cameo at the end.

By the way if you are all wondering I work at a movie theatre and we get employee screenings before the movie comes out. I was going to watch Nacho Libre by I didn't get off work until 11 and the only one they were screening after 11 was Fast and the Furious 3. If you had the choice, I would choose Nacho Libre or Lake House over FnF3. Although I do expect FnF3 to do very well in the box because of all the hype.

The New Fast and Furious does not interest me because Paul Walker is not in it mad.gif
SarahxJoy
I adore Paul Walker, and despite the fact that he's not in this one (tragically), I'm still up for seeing it.
Fast cars drifting in Tokyo, I like the sound of that.

But then again, I guess I can't have a definite opinion until I see it. _smile.gif
NoSex
Oh dear lord, the first one was enough torture! When will the horror end?! ohmy.gif
My Cinderella.
I'm actually looking forward to watching the movie. I like the whole Tokyo setting.
mipadi
The first two were actually kind of fun.

Okay, not necessarily "well-made" films, or films with any artistic merit by any stretch. But they were fun to watch. They were predictable, sure, but still, kind of fun.

My friend and I definitely have plans to go see this one, too. Keep up the trend and all that.
Sumiaki
Don't get me wrong it's a great movie if you want to just lay back and watch well choreographed races. I mean you sort of expect a certain quality in different movies. That review was just an unbaised review when considering and comparing it against other movies. Lmao you girls and your Paul Walker. No Vin Diesel fans? Because he's at the end of the movie. rolleyes.gif
Skyline Drive
The new main character for this movie was on the fuse channel the other day and I could barely stand to watch him for more than 5 minutes. He seems like a horrid actor and his voice is full of hick.

I am sure the racing will be fun to watch though. They should just cut all of that guys speaking parts out.
PrincessAda
I really wanna see it.It comes out today right?
Tribal J_Rome
Me and my friend got to see it earlier this week cuz my brother's work handed out free advance screening tickets to the employees and he gave his to me. We both liked it and thought it was better than the first two. The main cars were a lot nicer too.
technicolour
This one actually looks interesting..but..I'll wait until DVD. Unless I get dragged by my friends. -sigh- But I will miss you Paul.

jenn_jenny
i wanna seeee it ;D;D
mipadi
Probably going to go see it tonight. laugh.gif
RiC3xBoy
As shallow as it seems, the girls in the movie alone would make me want to see it.
simx
Yea i'll probably go see it.

lanbexx
kaila yu is in it....

lol its funny. black guy teaching white guy who hooks up with mexican chick how to drift in tokyo
Tribal J_Rome
Only for a couple clips, and she isn't really all that...

I didn't even know it was her till I looked up the cast earlier.

Ok, I'm watching.
lanbexx
yup thats half the reason to watch it
kryogenix
The best part about going to see this movie is not the movie itself, but watching the idiots try to drift out of the parking lot in their front wheel drive civics just because they saw it in the movie. Prepare for crashes.
sprezzatura
It'll probably remind me of Initial D...

I will watch it if people says it's good.
ANG33ZY
lol i guess i'll be watching garfield then

That hick accent along with a aussie accent and a british accent. Horrible. pinch.gif
MrElsewhere
looool.

police in the sacramento area are being trained to recognize street racing cars, and the aftermarket parts that are illegal, etc, in preparation for the expected rise in street racing after this movie.

um. yeah.

isn't bow wow in it? i was flipping through the channels and saw him on tv talking about fnf3 and how he learned some japanese.

drifting is fun to watch, i have to say.
REBELnDISGUISE
the main character dude's bottom teeth really bothered me... they were pretty crooked...

hahaha when I went to see the movie there was a Trueno like the one in Initial D but it was red and it even had a Initial D windshield cover. The fag driving it was reving his engine after the movie like he was hella bad or something.

THAT MOVIE WAS THE SHIZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but WTF THEY SCREWED OVER SO MANY AWSOME CARS!!!! WHY!!!!!!!???????????????????? that beautiful veilside rx-7, and the 350z and the other 350z and the evo......etc. my heart broke so many times......

but it was a good movie. really got ur blood pumping unlike 2F2F.

but that movies was also kinda whack. no way a white guy can beat asians at street drifiting.
lila200098
HELLO! bow wow is in it!! that means its spectactular. biggrin.gif
Fuck
I like how Shawn becomes the Drift King in 1 week in Tokyo.

The girls were ok.

I just saw it today because my friend wanted to see it.
Ehh, Shawn's southern accent did bother me a bit. And, it was too predictable for me, I knew what was going to happen after the race between Shawn and the Drift King.
And yeah, I didn't like it when he kept wrecking the cars.

But the race scenes were good, and it wasn't a bad movie.
Gypsy Eyes
I don't think they should have made a third one. It's going to kill the series.
SyKoKiNeSiS
350z is an ugly car.
The Nocturnal Phantom
There's a song in the movie that's just great.. Lol. It's hilarious, but it also has a good beat and flow to it. It's weird. XD I can't find the title of the song anywhere though. Anyone know where I can upload songs?

EDIT: Found the title. It's called Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz. Listen to it. Lol.
wayne
movie was good. if you pay close attention, you will notice its relation to initial D and better luck tomorrow. vin deisel is in it at the end (spoiler for those who havent seen it), and there will be a 4th one with vin in it. thats why he was in the end.
The Nocturnal Phantom
Initial D is all about drift racing, & this movie is called tokyo drift... Get my drift? Of course it has similarities. Lol.
AngryBaby
the plot made no sense.

Main character: I HAVE to to fix it, its my mess. im a man

first of of all "Han" stole from the Yakuza, which you knew nothing about. so how is it "you're mess"? 2ndly, Han even admitted it, "this is what we do" so regardless, all that shit would've happened whether you were in tokyo or not.

I think he felt obligated to fix Han's mess cuz Han taught him how to drift. Besides, he never got to fully pay him back for f**king up his car in the first race lol.

Plus, if you think about it Han was pals with DK and DK hated the main character guy, Han was helping him out.
lanbexx
comeon, who really gives a damn about the story line. youre reasons for watching the movie have "plot" at number 50.

but WHY!!!??? THOSE POOR CARS!! GIVE THEM TO ME IF UR GONNA SMASH THEM!!!!

i REALLY liked that random lesbian kissing scene :D
yoshie
^you realize that the cars they demolish in the movie are not real right? they're just props. ie just the body and frame and maybe the interior...

as for the movie, it was alright. wasn't as bad as i expected, but didn't surprise me either. the good thing is that it created 'some' publicity in the drifting scene. the bad thing is that all the retarded ricer fanboy's will attempt to drift on the highway and consider themselves cool.

it's cool that sam (one of the stunt drivers, also top seed in formula d) was able to drift in the evo. i'm guessing that it was a RWD conversion from a AWD.
lanbexx
yea i thought, wtf kind of retarded hollywood exec had the main character drift in an evo???

yea but those frames still have aftermarket body kits on them. theyre still worth a lot of money

the prop cars, including body frame/chassis, body kit, taillight/headlight housings, exterior accessories (lips, canards etc), probably does not exceed 1-2 thousand. still better than destroying a $30,000+ car though.
angel-roh
I didn't watch it yet. But the reason I want to watch it because I like fast cars.... hehhh...hehhhh... hehhhh... and I LOVE TOKYO JAPAN!! hehe.

even if the story is dumb, i would still want to watch it!!!
synkro
it's nothing like initial d. whereas initial d actually dove into the technicalities of the cars and the road, tokyo drift was all drama. it sucked like hell, but i guess i should've expected it... there was just that one little piece inside me who hoped that it would be ok since there the setting is in japan that it would be authentic.

WHO DRIFTS FORDS?! i swear, i hate surfing channels and seeing mustangs being drifted in the speed network. and why why why was there a nissan z? -_-"

and the accents! all the asians they used for the film were from austrailia, i swear. i'd much rather hear them talk in fobby ass japanese accents.

the only good things about the movie was the food being showcased and the teriyaki boyz and dragon ash songs from the soundtrack ;o
lanbexx
lol its an interesting idea. dropping a GTR motor into a mustang body
jenn_jenny
ilovedit ;D
RiC3xBoy
I love how they put a Nissan Twin Cam Engine into a Mustang.....No offense, but how the f**k does a hick become the best drifter in Tokyo in less than a month? O well, I still liked the movie.

Lmao.....they call Bow Wow Twinkie....
