So for your personal essays, what would write/have written? I'm going to apply to colleges in a few months and for some of the schools, the essays can help you alot.

For those who are in college and have written some already do you think you could give me examples?

um, in middle school i wrote about my immigration from china to the usa. basically, it was just about the differences and how nothing was the same. surprisingly, i got a 100% =]

and then this year, i went into dept on my moms suicide for english.

just remember to put some feeling in it. also, you should write something that has true feeling, not just like..how you got a stain on your shirt or something. that way, you can express it more with words since its something youve always remembered
