Wait, are you talking about extracting a color from your layout to then put in a gradient?
If so, use the eyedropper tool.

Materials Properties--Edit--It now should be at Gradient Editer.
Click the little pentagon next to custom.And clikc the box that has a color next to it and something should pop up.Change the color.
