Mrm. So I just rented the videos from the library (baah I can't seem to find it anywhere else). Does anyone remember or has anyone seen this series? It makes me kind of sad because Jared's quite the jerk in it.

yeah! They started showing it on the N for a while, but it's gone again. They always bring back the good shows and then ditch them, and I reall don't appreciate that.

Best.Show.Ever.
Ditto and a half.
I remember watching this show as it aired originally. It was downright biblical for me to have to watch it.
I hated the ended though (I won't spoil since I'm not sure if you all have seen the entire series yet).
Oh and Jared.... ahh....

I just read about it on wikipedia, the themes make it seem pretty interesting. I wish I could have watched it...QUOTE
My So-Called Life brought up issues that were usually not mentioned in family series in the mid-nineties, when it was aired. These include child abuse, homophobia, teenage alcoholism, homelessness, adultery, kinky sex, same-sex parenting, censorship, and drug use, among many others. While a lot of shows would bring up these themes as a one-time issue (a "very special episode") that would be brought up as a problem at the beginning of an episode and resolved as the end, in My So-Called Life, they were just a part of the world. The very title of the show emphasizes how the perception of meaninglessness that many teenagers experience is the main theme of the series. The show depicts teenage years as difficult and confusing as opposed to a light fun-filled time of pranks and jokes, as it would be in sitcoms like Parker Lewis Can't Lose or Saved by the Bell or in movies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I will always love this show.
Jordan Catalano was my obsession. For like, weeks.
Much like Eric Vanderbeek used to be.

btw, I wanted to be Angela. I think part of me still does.

OMG. I am with my people now!! You have no idea how long I've been searching for anyone else that wasn't 5 years old at the time it originally aired!
And yes...didn't we ALL want to be Angela? She had Jordan to drool on, Rayanne to be crazy with, Brian Krakow to walk on, and Ricky to be emo with <3
my favorite was the one where Angela's parents went out of town and everyone was over, and Rayanne ended up handcuffed to Angela's parents' bed :O

They should bring it back. I know they give it on The-N like at 5 a.m. but I'm not alive at that time. I'm still in my stupid dreams then... BRING IT BACK!! IT WAS MY HOME SLICE!
