What are the qualities of a perfect mate (someone you'd want to marry and stay with for life)?

He has to be the man in the family.. Meaning, he can't leave all the decisions up to me. My dad's like that, and my mom is rather frustrated with it. He has to be intelligent, faithful, caring/loving.. all those nice things we look for. And the most importnat thing - he has to support me in what I do (I'm studying for a professional performer - pianist).

And, of course, it should be someone who will always love you, no matter what.

Well, here's what I think. I'll describe my crush, haha.

Personality wise, right?

He has to be able to take charge, but also at the same time leave some things to me. He also has to not be afraid to ask for help. I hate when men do that. (guys, explain why please?) But he has to be funny, and has to be a good speaker, but, at the same time, a good listener. He has to have a good view on life. Don't get me wrong, he can be upset, but not all the time. He has to care for others as much as he cares about himself.

A guy who'll love me for me, all the bad sides of me as well as the good. A guy who'll respect my opinions, and will respect my wishes. A guy who never breaks any promises to me. A guy who can support me financially, who'll provide me with enough money. A guy who is intelligent, has a good sense of humour. A guy who can make me laugh, even when I don't wanna smile. A guy who has an optimistic outlook on life. A guy who is responsible for his actions. A guy who can help me out when I need him the most. A guy who'll help me out with all sorts of troubles. A guy with whom I can have fun, serious, sad conversations one. A guy who is sensitive to my needs. A guy who shows me that he loves me, intead of just saying it.

Basically, I need a guy who works on my wavelength.

he has to be someone i can trust, someone i can depend on, someone who's willing to actually listen to my problems, someone i can feel comfortable with, someone to talk to for hours and hours, someone that makes me laugh, someone who's not gonna try to change me, someone who's daring and exciting, yet sensitive and caring, someone who likes the same things as me, someone who has their own flaws and accepts them as well as mine..

yeah, all those things are great... you will add more to the list... also your will give each thing on your list a little bit of slack as your grow and realize how much sh*t you have to deal with when your in a relationship... a relationship isn't a piece of cake... just think... its putting two people together that have different needs and wants... people are like snowflakes they are never the same, your going to bump head all the time... the trick is learning how to compromise and better yourself for your #1 hun

I suppose I could write all the characteristics of a perfect mate but.. my perfect mate has many flaws. I dont know what they would be but I would love each and every one of them.

My perfect mate :
Someone who can carry a conversationg. A guy who knows how to hold his temper. A someone who can and will make you laugh when you are down. A sweet down and simple guy who knows fashion but isn't a follower. A guy who doesn't try so hard to get someone's attention besides the girl he is crushing on or so. A guy who's tall, understanding sweet but not too sweet. Someonme who can make me laugh. Someone who would leave his friends once in awhile so he could be with me. A guy who makes me smile.

my perfect mate would be someone enough like me, but without my bad characteristics. they'd just have to be able to deal with me.

one'd have to be extremely caring and protective, without being suffocating. a nice sense of humour, but not a total spaz. someone who can deal with my ideas and my other mates. he'd have to be willing to be a family man. and adventerous and not too attached.

i don't know. how do you explain this kind of thing.

oh, and he has to live closer. that'd help.

(because i know the perfect guy, he just lives 620 miles away when i'm at my father's and more like 1400 when i'm at my mum's.)

he has to be just as sarcastic as me. my boyfriend has the balls to put up with me and i love him for that. he has to be able to cook, im not talkin 4 stars. but i want something a lil more that top ramen shrimp night. i want him to enjoy touching me and not me having to continue to drop little hints of when i want to be held. when i joke on him, he cant just sit there and take it. i want to be able to fight and not have him be all moody about it. only one person can get pms. just be someone i feel safe and comfortable around. i like the "i can whoop your tush right here right now" but yet still hold inteligent conversations with. he has to be able to make me laugh. even a simple giggle. oh yea...and a kiss that sends chills down my spine doesnt hurt much

Well, he definitely has to be affectionate, honest and sensitive. He has to have the ability to be with kids and talk to kids. So, if we do have children, he won't have a problem spending time with them. Also, he needs to take on half of the responsibility. It'd be great if he could cook, too. :] I'd never marry a guy who didn't have a sense of humour.

AND HE MUST BE CLEAN AND ORGANIZED!
