just wanted to get a feel for what you all use, because for some reason my computer doesn't agree with kazaa or kazaa lite!! any recommendations?

I recommend BitTorrent using BitTornado.

I use Ares. Its wonderful, and great and amazing. Its also not caught by my university's firewall.

Like Long said, BitTornado is a cool client. If you're into BitTorrent I also recommend Azureus. But most of the time I use Overnet.

Which was a blackmarket download. It has IP blocking and a option not to share files! It is great...it is a hard way to get caught...but I dont have much in there. PM me and I can send you the file... or something like that.

I use Kazaalite k++ but it's hard to get songs now a days... All those bogus files and dumb people that don't erase them once they get them and know they are crap... so I either go to iTunes and buy the song or just get the CD... I don't download stuff now a days...

Kazaa lite ++ for all the songs. Recently I've been downloading files using bit torrent on suprnova.

If your kazaa lite doesn't work as in it doesn't connect, then your problem is that recently kazaa cut the connection to some of the newer versions of their program because they didn't want people making versions in which they could make money off of them, so people with Kazaa lite and Kazaa lite K++ (like me) couldn't use it anymore (There goes my software). BUT, if you have an older version, not sure how old, it will still work. So find a friend.

Just don't download Kazaa desktop, whatever you do, don't download that unless you value your privacy. Spyware, and Adware are a huge issue with Kazaa desktop. That's how they make money you know.

dc++ and with the dorm's connection, the top speed that i've seen downloading steady at was ~11 mb/sec. i'm on the ucdavis hub which only allows only uc students to log in so i guess that's why its so fast.
