my friends dad died last night, we've been friends for 5 years. i cant even imagine the pain he's going through, i really want to be there for him in his time of need but i dont know how to comfort him. i dont want to just pat him on the back repeatedly while saying,'im sorry, itll be alright.'

My friend's father died last August, so I pretty much know what the situation's like. Give him a hug, and tell him that you're there for him anytime, anyplace, anywhere if he needs someone to talk to. Just letting him know you'll be there is a comfort in itself.

i dunno...let him/her know that ur there for them and that u can be used for support..thats what i would do....

right now all u can do is to be there for him. if he needs someone to talk to then be there and listen. if he just wants someone then just be there. thats basically all u can do.
