Alright, I'm a rookie here on myspace and I know nothing. How do you add the tracker code to your page? The tutorial says to place the code in "About me" but I don't know where that is and how to put it there. Any help? mad.gif

just go to "edit profile" and it should open up a page where u can copy and paste the script you get from here into your profile.

Oh man this thing is awesome. Used it to find out that someone (same person) was accessing my site every morning and it creeped me out so I put up xanga's non-xangan block. Then the IP registered a username and I blocked it. Turns out it was my mom. Thank you so much Micron. =)

"Turns out it was my mom". That made me laugh. laugh.gif
Anyways yeah I LOVE this tracker!! It is so awesome. Now I can find out if this cute guy I know really has been looking at my page or not.

Well I'm new at this too so I'm not an expert, but if I understand your question correctly, the URL it shows is just the Destination page, the page that the user landed on. And so when you click on it it takes you to your page. Does that help? _unsure.gif
litobabie
hi.
maybe i stupid asking this, but whats an IP adress ??
kcm0430
hi i must be dummy but when i am trying to get my tracker it says to put in ur
URL
Blog address. Will be used to authenticate hits.

does that mean my myspace address. ya know, www.myspace.com/?????

thanks!!
kcm0430
^i think i figured it out!!!

but now my next question is, under the part where it says destination, there is a link and when i click it, it goes to MY Myspace?? is that right?? if not, what did i do wrong??? thanks!! oh and why does it say, unknown for the ISP location, i think that is what it is called. my husband and i have a desktop and a laptop and i had him look at my myspace, but it has unknown and then i looked at it and it had the SAME ip address for me and him and still unknown!! blink.gif i like it though, even though i am confused!!! _unsure.gif

hey..I'm a new comer and just wanna ask a few questions.

1. Is that the xanga tracker able to log user name even the vistor doesn't login?
2. Is that the CB stats support MSN Spaces?

Thanks!

1. If the person has enabled cookies and logged in previously, you will be able to see his/her username.
2. I don't think so.
bbysandi
this is really awesome. but why does it always says anonymous?
the_cursed_one
I read the thing about the router but the thing is that I don't have one and it still shows up that my IP is from Virginia. It's also doing that for a lot of other IPs that are showing up...
Help...?
kcm0430
and when i look at my own profile, it comes up unknown. whats up with that??? cry.gif wacko.gif
AHWagner18
This is a good tracker, but it would be even better if could log peoples myspace member codes so then you can go to there myspace and see who looked at your myspace.

^ I hope that is added soon! I really want that feature!
robertsareth
if i put it hidden, i cant see the cbstats to click on..
imreadytofall
Hi there.. one question.

I think that sometimes the CB tracker misses a log or two...like for example, I'd get a comment from someone but I wouldn't see that hit on the stats. Is there an explanation for why some hits don't get logged?

Thanks a lot.
mrhankyfan
where do you view your stats on myspace if you've set it to private?
mrhankyfan
what's an IP? and i cant see who exactly views my profile by the IP thing.
swimmingupstream
how do you check it after you've put the code on your page?
krayzieexinnocence
this is pretty cool. but why won't it support usernames from myspace?
shrpshooter1505
For some reason the tracker is not working(for livejournal). I've tried everything, and its not working. If someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated
ohhnedlay
So, I put this code on my Xanga, MySpace and LiveJournal, but I can't see it.
I don't know how to view the people who have visited my page on any of the three sites.
Have I done something wrong?
ohhnedlay
One more thing:
My boyfriend was playing around with my MySpace and Xanga [giving me a new layout] and accidentally deleted the codes from both sites.
When I came back to get the codes again, it said I can only have them on three sites.
How do I get them back?
jiltsanass

ashleyr0se

pariswannabe
i don't mean this rude, maybe i'm missing something, but what is the point of the myspace tracker if it can't tell you who was there (username)? myspace already tells you how many page views you have when you login. is there seomthing i'm missing?

and i didn't read through all 16 pages of replies so i don't know if this has already been answered...but i was just wondering!

thanks guys!! biggrin.gif

To check who visited your page, click on the 'Stats' link at the top of the createBlog homepage next to the logo. Yes, it tells you the location. It won't tell you the username because Myspace does not allow trackers like that. They say it's an invasion of privacy.

As I said above, it won't tell you the username of the person who visits your page.

To know how many people have visited your page on a daily and monthly basis. Only, it would be boring to look at just that so more features were added. Read what's been written about not being able to know exactly who visits your page. It's been said a million times over. _smile.gif

period.

Okay, thanks for the info!!

Hey MySpace folks.. If you want to look up the IP address with a accurate location, rather then you ISP's location (Like mine says i'm in "virgina", but thats where Comcast is.. not me! LOL)... Try this site! http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation

HTH!!!
zildjian7akid
so will their ever be a way i can track who is at my page?
jcaf84

jazelo9

Wow, this thing is attracting a lot of newbies. That's good though! New members are cool. I just hope you all stick around.

It seems a lot of you guys think this will show you who exactly visited your MySpace. That's not true. It gives you an IP address and the link the person clicked on or entered into the address bar to get to your MySpace. This just gives you an idea of who it might be. If you really want to know, track the IP and figure out how they got to your site. You have to do a little detective work. tongue.gif It's against the MySpace TOS to have a tracker that shows exactly who has visited your site.

Thanks mona lisa for keeping up with this! If you guys are having any more problems, feel free to PM me. Read this forum before you do because odds are your question has already been answered somewhere in here. happy.gif

how would you go about tracking the IP then?
SunshineIzDivine
This Is soo ko0l..i like it..
onegoodcat
I read through ALL the pages because I didn't want to sound like a dumbass if I asked a question. By the way, I joined even before I knew there was a tracker. Ha.

It's showing that I live in VA....and I don't. I heard something about that being where the computer comes from? Then other locations can be wrong as well?

Oh, and I love this tracker. The only problem is the location, but I can certainly guess who's been visiting my profile...for example, some guy who emailed me. Since he emailed me, I've had 3 profile views from the same person. It's easy! Without the username, it adds a little more fun (guessing is fun).
diva_lil_pixie
Well, no one's said how to use someone's IP to find out who it is. How do we go about doing that?
KING_SIAH29
welll how do you actually use it? because everytime i check it i only see myself on there but noone else can someone please inform me on how it works

thanks,

king
Yoursl
that is realy cool... i cant wait to use it!!!!!! thanx!
