ok, i put a splash page on my site and everything you click now, you get redirected to the splash page!!!!!!

then its a probably a problem in your wordpress theme.
specifically check your header.php, index.php (though i dont think its there), and comments.php

make sure you dont ahve the splash page in there.

That usually only happens when you edit the wordpress templates and edit it wrong. When adding the splash page did you?

Why have one really when you can make wp your main page but anyways did you edit the wp templates?

or add a .htacess file?

Thats why you save your files before hand.

What can't you do?
If you messed up one of your templates I can send you mine ( I have the original one saved on my computer).

it wasnt a file, it was on the dashboard....

like i changed, in the options tab, where is says: "site"... i changed it from http://phoenixf1re.melilyn.com to http://phoenixf1re.melilyn.com/index.php

and it screwed everything up

Did you uploadd your blog in the root folder? AND upload your new index page in the root folder?
If so thats what messed it up.

and just to inform you http://phoenixf1re.melilyn.com is the same thing as http://phoenixf1re.melilyn.com/index.php

so you changing it just made the links go to your index page..

ah, so you dont have a folder? well, thats the problem. your splash page should be index.html then..

and i did this too..once.
i had http://ill-wed.com/seizure/blog, and i changed it to http://seizure.ill-wed.com/blog, and after a minute it seemed to work again.


your blog is in the sidebar.
you want someone to fix this for you?

Umm. Right now I see your blog in your nav bar.

If you can't even do that then you might have to re-install.


I mean changing the urls you have to change it to the right one. If thats all you edited you might have to re-install..

how would i do that?


do i need help from the person who hosts my site?

If you really want to just re-install (you might not have too but I don't know a way to fix your problem) you would delete it but first
Find out your database name, host spot (like localhost), db pass , db username

If your host did it , they could do it faster.

You don't need your host too install. But if your host have cpanel (fantastico) they can install it for your quickly.
