Yeah:
liberals - more government
conservatives - less government

You'd think that's right, but then again, in recent years, political conservatives have been responsible for creating the government's largest bureaocracy (the Department of Homeland Defense).

i dont mean to contradict anyone, but ive been to liberal conventions-held at the gun shows. They believe in more gun rights. They arent trying to take them away.

I decided to do some research and now im highly confused. The people at the 2 gun shows i met, were for the liberal party and were all for getting gun rights. "we have the right to own whatever weapons we want" they even tried recruiting me, but everything im finding says liberals are as was said for more gun control. so im sorry for my statement im just really confused now. sad.gif

A liberal is a person on the "left" of the political spectrum; the term is most often associated with Democrats, although people from parties such as the Green Party could be considered liberals.

A libertarian is a person who believes strongly in individual freedom, and small government. They mostly believe that people should be free to do what they want, as long as they don't infringe on the rights of others. They uphold, among other things, freedom of speech and gun rights. In that sense, they are most often associated with the conservative ("Republican") side of the spectrum, although they have some more liberal leanings as well.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you "despise most liberals"?

it's easier to say libertarians are liberal about commerce and conservative about individual freedoms.
