well usually i didn't really care about it, but its getting very noticeable now.. its very emmbarrasing too.
i don't know what do use? i'd take a pill cause thats probably one of the things that don't hurt you cause the other things like electrolysis zap you or whatever.
and shaving makes it grow back thicker/faster and you get prickly little hair when it grows back like a man..
any suggestions?

should this be in health?
the best is probably doing electrolysis it removes it permenantly but costs alot of money
or another thing you could do is laser hair removal but it only lasts for 6 months is it's also quite costly
maybe threading too might work
QUOTE
Many women say the best method of hair removal from the upper lip
is threading. One of the benefits is that you don’t have to wait
for hair to grow a certain length. The concept is that you’re
going to get the hair twisted and spun into the thread and thusly
yanking, gently yanking it off your face. It might be difficult
for you to visualize the procedure, so you may want to have it
done in a salon first if you’re not getting the full gist of what
needs to happen.

You could just get sugaring (waxing, but better) done on your upper lip. It doesn't hurt, and it makes it all nice and smooth! Here's a link that might help you out a bit:

i wax as well, it hurts but it's affordable and plus the whole "threading" thing sounds TOO painful! >_<

I would just get it waxed... It seems like a quick and easy way to get rid of unwanted hair, it probably hurts a hell of a lot but hey, it's quick and easy. You can buy the wax strips yourself at Rite Aid or Duane Reade or one of those pharmacy places.
I shall move this to the Health Forum, thank you _sarcastic_ for noticing it.

shaving doesn't make it grow back thicker, or faster.
my friends told me you can pluck it with tweezer but im guessing it would hurt.
my best advice would be to get it waxed. talk to your mom about it :)

You can wax it, bleach it, or if you have some tweezers, then pluck it

Wax it. Effortless and it doesn't hurt like a little (*#@&%(*#.

shaving hair away DOESNT make the hair grow back thicker and longer or whatever like what imnoxonesmemory
people just think that because they look more closely at it after theyve shaved it off and they think its thicker. trick of the light

i say pluck it if you want to save money

you can also bleach it yourself i heard that the easiest and non-painful way of not making it noticable but wax it if you want to get rid of it i suggest wax though

... shaving REALLY does make it grow back thicker. it's the same with leg hair. I mean, it doesn't constantly grow thick every single time, but like with guys, if you shave enough it'll get stubbly.
I'd pluck, or use hair removal creams especially for the upper lip. Nair has that, that i know of.

^ Yeah, Nair has creams... but for me I always have to leave it on way longer than the max time limit, and sometimes I have to do it more than once.... which will make your skin reaaallly irritated. And it makes your upper lip feel weird for a few days.
Hah, I just pluck the dark hairs.

I suggest wax because it's affordable, and it does a good job!

OR You can pluck it with a tweezer if you want to save money as stated above. =]

Plucking and waxing are too painful... use an electric razor or something.

Jan 7 2007, 10:57 PM
^ What? You mean shave your face?
Ew. And that'll grow back faster too, because your just trimming the hairs, instead of pulling them out (either by waxing or plucking).

I would think it would be less painful. I've waxed my legs, and that was a bitchhhhh... no way I'd ever put that near my face.

I thread, its painful but not as painful as people make it seem. It grows back in about 2 weeks or so.

Threading is the best option. It hurts at first but after a while you get used to it.

Everyone and their dogs have hair on their upper lips. It's just a matter of your genetics; blondes have lighter hair, so you can't see their "mustache" as easily. Pass a mascara around a slumber party and take it to your upper lip, everyone will have hair.
If it's so ugly that you basically can't be mistaken for a man, just shave that crap off. If you're filthy rich, get surgery to have it permanently removed.
