it seems that if I leave my computer idle my AIM disconnects is there anyway to stop it?

If you computer goes to sleep, then you will lose your network connection and AIM will then disconnect. But it's probably best to let your computer go to sleep.

Right-click on the desktop > Properties > Screen Saver tab > Power Options

i set it so my computer doesnt go into sleep mode and it still disconnects is there anything else i can try

but im connected thorugh a comcast linksys router

Could just be your wireless connection. Your card might shut down when your computer is idle, or you may just be dropping the connection—wireless networks, especially in the home, are notoriously unstable.

Aside from getting something to strengthen your signal, such as a re-broadcaster, no. You could try lessening the distance between your wireless router and your computer, either by moving your computer closer to your router, or your router closer to your computer.
