Full Version: What's wrong with my work?!

I play a horse/dog rpg game (as well as using create blog) where each player has a page where they can put whatever html they want. I do graphics and pages for people on the game and am pretty established as a 'layout' maker there. I also have done websites for people and have my own humble corner of the web. However all my work for Create blog is refused! The standard on here may be higher, but it doesn't appear to be. I'm not saying my work is better than the work here, but it is pretty similar standard, if I may say so myself. What am I doing wrong? cry.gif

P.S. If you wanna see an example of an image from a refused layout go to: http://www.geodata.soton.ac.uk/~csms/createblog_horses.png. You have to imagine it in the top left corner with the complete navigation box with links and expanding text box to the right of the navigation box.

Well, maybe it's just not liked by the people who accept them. It's the mods' choice whether to accept them or not, and they're just doing their jobs. Maybe it's not aligned in other browsers or something. Mods always have a reason why they don't accept your submissions, so don't get mad if it doesn't get accepted. Many people have gone through this as well so don't feel left out. You always have a next time. wink.gif

From what I can see, the horse layout needs to be tweaked a bit, to make it more fancy... Why? Because it looks like you didn't put too much time into it.
Here are the steps I think you may have taken to create the image:
1) google up the pic you want
2) open it in photoshop/paint shop pro
3) add the squares on top of the horses (may i add that brushes get this done in a matter of seconds?)
4) gradient overlay
5) brush the borders onto the picture
6) lines + type
All that couldn't have taken more than 20 minutes, am I right? Anyway... in this case, I think it would be a good idea to make it more extravagant (or... neat-o).
Jane Doe.
See, this is why it's hard being a moderator here. The image's quality isn't the best, and I would've rejected it, too. Sorry. Maybe I did, I just don't remember. I would suggest trying to improve it--make it look more..presentable? No, just..do your best to improve it, the image, the css--anything that you can. If it's not accepted, it is most likely for those reasons..I try to add an explanation why it's rejected when it is...Sorry, again.

Agreed. I have that horse image on my computer upstairs. I got it from Google.
