Midnight Faerie

Winds whisper through these silent halls
Whose doors were forever sealed by time,
As the ticking clock of misery chases you.
Old portraits come alive with the sound of
a thousand melodies,
Played only on the organ whose keys have drowned in dust.

This is a lonely, dreary place
Where greatness had once roamed, long ago;
Yet Father Time grew tired with the frivilous tales
Which had unfolded in the palace.
Ghosts of long-gone guests waltz in the dilapidated ballroom
In where a queen had laid to rest,
Where witches burned and seldom returned in spirit
To curse the beings whom bestowed such evils upon them.

Moonlight dances in a timeless tune,
Becoming more and more lost in the past with each footstep;
Spectors of the Victorian era gaze solemnly back at inquiring eyes
Wondering where they are, and why.
Frozen in an eternity of damnation,
These helpless creatures are forced to repeat the one thing that should have ended;
Life.

Deep, and I love the texture of the piece. It's not smooth, it's lacy and pannelled.. and fluid. If I had to compare your piece with cake.. It would be Cheese Cake. Very rich compared to many's.

Well done.

Very well done.
I like it, I just don't like the term ghost for somewhat reason. wink.gif

Haha, I like your comparison 'Riddle Me Wonders'.

I guess I'm stating the obvious but it give an eerie feeling. You give such a in-depth description of the place. I actually want to give a visit and see what it's like. The Ghost of a Memory. Beautiful.

I really like your username also.
