I'm going to be going to Acen this year, I was wondering if anyone here is going to be going as well? Or, has anyone ever been there before?

Oh, and if you don't know what it is. Acen stands for Anime Central, it's an Anime Convention held annually in Chicago. It's one of the biggest midwest Anime Conventions in the country.

Yeah, that would be a long way to go from California just for an Anime Con.
Although it is a fun weekend, it isn't that great. Plus, I'm sure there are bigger and more spectacular conventions in California.

^^ It might not haved been Anime Central, but I'm sure there are a number of conventions held in NY yearly.

I'd love to go to more anime conventions, though. I went to Nekocon 8 last year and it was amazing. Tons of fun, and it's cool to be around more otakus. The nerd air *inhales*...smells like home.

^Last time I went to Tokyo (which was years ago back when I was a real youngin) there were lots of hot Japanese boys it was fun! (At the time I didn't think of them as fun but after seeing pictures of the memory it was fun! My older sister who was at the time a teen loved anime and decided to bring me along). But wow Chicago? Haha, I'm going to be there, and it's going to be great. If all goes well, I'll have my CD completed and I'll be able to sell it while congoing.

I went there last year to see The Pillows in concert. The concert was great, but expect to stand in line with thousands of nerds for several hours while they talk to you about whatever it is that uninteresting otaku talk about. These otaku incidentally had no idea about the band they were seeing other than they did the soundtrack for some anime. One idiot thought they only had two albums, and countless others who only owned the FLCL osts were amazed when they found out that the pillows made songs with lyrics. Stupid stupid stupid. I didn't do anything else there but see the pillows and wait in line, so i guess i'm not really an ACEN expert, though. The Pillows were very impressed when I presented my copy of White Incarnation for them to sign.

Yeah, that was a decent show.
They speak awful english. I thought it was cute.
Oh, and those Anime Nerds are only a source of entertainment for so long, after a while, you may want to kill yourself.
