I've got your feelings in a box
You say "it's love, baby, love"
I walk away, I need some more
I've got their feelings wrapped around my hand
They say "I need you more than you know"
I leave a tear on the losers lips
and I've realized the sin of loving
and I've seen the things that it could do
and I've yearned for this jewel without scratches
I gave my past to the devil
He swears upon the heavenly man
"Give them pain and they could never give you the same"
They'd ask me why I flee from every sanctuary
I am as silent as that night
When my lover dropped off his keys
I dared not cry 'til he shut the door, no longer ours
I heave and huff and puff and drop
I don't care who looks with shame
I am broken without you...
I continue life's daily work
Pull the guts and all the insides
and I hope they learned their lesson
Miss, miss, what was the lesson?

I love reading what you write.

I especially like this part:
"and I've realized the sin of loving
and I've seen the things that it could do
and I've yearned for this jewel without scratches"

The act of loving portrayed as sin when it is something that most everyone wants. Powerful statement.
