Sleeping dreams of candy canes,
I open my eyes.
The silence of nothing,
I creep downstairs.
I wonder outside to the night
The color of life had turned dark as black
Everything seemed so dull,
I lied down onto the cold dirt.
I could feel the earth breathing,
My eyes were burning with the cold
That bright bulb in the sky
Took all my fears away.
I take special attention
To each grain of dirt
Every groove in the uneven soil,
Suprisingly soft as silk.
I never want to get up
Its heaven here.
But I saw something even more peaceful-
That shining pool of glass.
I step into my little rowboat
Put my hands on the paddle, just right.
I take off,
The wrinkling water looks so inviting.
As I strip down,
The bitter cold bites my skin
But I feel so perfect in the water.
I can't help but swim.
I duck my head under the silky sheet
The water flutters above my head.
I feel every inch of water delicately touch my fingers,
And everything is alright.
I come back onto short,
And float back home.
Glide on up the stars,
And rest my head on my feather-soft pillow.
