I'm thinking about joining my tennis team at school, but what racquet should i get?

Well, there are try-outs and everything so I might not even make it, but I'm planning on practicing with my friend this week (tryouts are next week) and I have one, but it's not good I don't think.

So what's the difference between junior and adult racquets? And what's the difference between the more rounded heads and the more narrower ones?

Btw, I don't want one that's really expensive either.

I'm not really sure what's the difference between the adult and juniors.. But I don't think you should get an adult one, they're usually really expensive. The rounded ones have a bigger head and the narrower ones don't. If you're a beginer, I'd think you should get a rounded one.

When I started with tennis, I got the junior rackets but dont get that if you're junoir higher or older because your hand will be too big for that. Get an adult racket for better shots anyway.

My racket is actually 100-200, but dont get one unless you're certain you'll play for a while. My first racket was around 70. I recommend the popular brands (Wilson, Prince, Head etc) and don't get a heavy racket either. Find something lightweight and a grip you are comfortable with.

Good rackets: Wilson Hammerheads (one that I use sometimes, very comfortable), Head Radicals, Babolat Puredrive, or Prince Triple Threats

And the tennis team is fun :) you'll love it

the racket doesn't much matter untill you're really good. (as long as you can comfortablely use it)

when you're really good, then, everything matters.

for tryouts, if your racket works, just use that.

Well, it also depends if you want to keep on playing tennis (take lessons, etc) even if you dont make the team.

the junior ones are usually smaller.

and, if it's the same as badminton rackets, usually, the narrower heads are made better for offence, and the wider heads are made better for defence.

for a person closer to beginner, you should probably go with an adult and an oversized raquet, also go for something heavier

I don't really know I find it easier to use my Head Intellegance Racquet than my brother's junior racquet, buy an adult one.

well, i have a wilson one... don't know what it's called, but it's pink+blue with "Hope" written on the side. i think it's a special edition thingy for brest cancer. it's adult small! lols. with 44-54 string tension it's cute, narrow-headed [i think], and good for beginners. and since it's cute, it would be perfect for school! LOLS. oh yeah-it was only like $30 at Modell's.

but i have a professional one, but i wouldn't recommend it for beginners...
