The Scion tc looks like a very cool car! I like this Scion model the most out of the other Scion models.

Just think about it, not many cars in the under-$20,000 range come heavily standard equipped like the tC. Let's see, you got six-speaker Pioneer MP3 CD audio system, huge panorama sunroof, front sport seats, 17-inch wheels, power everything, and not to forget it looks nicer than the Civic and other rivals. Shit, not even the Civic doesn't have most of this shit and still costs more. And it feels high quality and expensive in the interior.

Styling is subjective, but it looks like a crossbreed between a BMW 740Li, Volvo S40, Saturn ION, and an Acura RSX.

Can't wait to drive one. Driven the xB a few months earlier, really huge inside dispite the exterior size! Don't like the look, OK performance but really damn slow going up hills.



No shit! They are actually rebadged JDM Toyota Ist (xA) and Toyota bB (xB), and made for the Japanese market in mind before sending it over here. Only the tC is the first unique Scion.



I've seen a few Scion xB's driven by middle-aged people! Toyota tried too hard marketing it to be "cool and hip" for teenagers with the techno music, lifestyle magazine and gear, but instead got older buyers.

However, while the Chrysler 300C sedan with the big HEMI V8 is marketed towards older people, yet it's a big hit with the teenagers. Funny how that works.

We'll see if this new Scion tC will grab the teenager's attentions like it should. Although no average teen can't even afford a damn $11,000 xA and buys old $2000 beaters.

yeah well i plan on buying the tC when in comes out in '05... thats my first choice... i have to admit.. the rsx is nicer.. my brother has one... but the scion doesnt look that bad... and at a price of under 20,000.. its not that bad...

It's a nice economy friendly car, and it doesn't even look like an economy car at all! Gotta love those side mirrors that actually flash during turns, not the ones with the light bulbs, those are common nowadays. I'd say it's a good ride for your money. Although with 16,000, you can get a used Eclipse GSX or Celica GTS or something..

I wouldn't call that an economy car. Scion is the segment of toyota aim towards sport compact enthusiasts. Based on the specs, it would fair pretty well against most entry level sport compacts these days. But, I agree, for 16000, you could do better.

Scion TC has a reputation of engine problems lately -- my mother is an accountant at a Toyota/Scion dealership.

but one of the things i think is really cool is the double glass moonroof

as hot as it may seem all the scion cars so far have the same exact engine and the engine has like 120 horsepower but its still a hot car

Scions aren't really my thing. 16-thou. isn't bad at all. But I do prefer the Acura TSX better [Even though it's like 10 thousand more.] Why, I don't really know.

Meh, if it's the look you like, then go for it. Not many people have that car; so it'll set you off from the other cars. Sports compact -meh; gets you from point a to point b is all that really matters. ^_^

btw the scion tc has 160 hp; higher then your average "civic" ^_^.
