Full Version: meet the mice

alright, this may go in techonolgoy, but i really don't think so... it's too... random?

alright. mice are quite essential for computer operation, unless you're in dos, in which case i say get out of the 80s.

there are different kinds of mice, and differnet ways of usign one. say which one you use. as well as the color of your mouse.

here are nice little mice.

notebook class

touchpad
vastly inefficient. touchpads never work. you try to go an inch, and the cursor flys across the screen. try to move across the screen, and the cursor stays put. When you're typing, you might accidentally hit the touchpad and click on something and then you don't see it and and you start replacing random chunks of text and you wonder why you failed the paper (touchpads are evil!).

i mean, come on, they aren't even mice. they could be like those stickypads that mice run onto and then get trapped. but see, the touchpad sucks soo much at sensing it'd capture yoru hand but let the mouse go, if you were using it as a mousetrap.

but anyways. touchpads are evil, inefficent, and made by satan.

eraserhead
i love eraserheads. first off, they're easy to aim. They're right at your fingertips. yea, if you don't know what one is, pull the eraser off of a pencil, and put it at the corner formed by the g, h, and b keys. now, imagine this is a joystick you can move the cursor with.

itsn't it lovely? yes. eraserheads rock. if jesus had a notebook, his would have had an eraserhead. IBM has eraserheads. they're quite good. sure, it doesn't look like a mouse, but if you pretended that mice laid eggs, you could pretend that the eraserhead was a mouse egg, so it'd kind of be like the other mice. either way, it wouldn't be an evil mousetrap that would kill the other mice.

plus, you can change out the colors. so you can hvae a black eraserhead, or a pink one... try that with a touchpad, satan!

touchscreen

touchscreens are arguablly more worser than the worst worsiest touchpad. it's just a giant touchpad, but to use it you have to cover what you want to see. also, look at your finger. it's fat right? so what are you pointing at? the delete or rename? maybe your computer willg et confused and do both.

touchscreens really suck at kiosks. i mean, you walk up to like, walgreens, and you try to print pictures. and then you click the print "button", and nothing happens. you wait a minute. so you press it again, and again. and nothing happens. you get really pissed, and then you jam your finger on it. and then it prints 50 copies.

touchscreens are satan himself. i mean, look at ATMs? do they have touchscreens? no. people know not to trust a touchscreen with money. it's satan! and the touchscreen will just explode. okay, maybe there are some newer ones that have touchscreens, but they're not good. they're satanic and will steall all your cash.

everything else

mechanical mouse
classic. mouseball. collects dust, gets grimy. then it's like a touchpad. if you clean it, it can be almost as good as an optical. works on mouspads. has a ball you can take out and throw at people. looks somewhat like a mouse.

what you can do is dress up a mouse like a mouse, and then show it to someone. when they go how cute, you tell them the mouse has cancer. you take out the mouseball, and then ask them to look afte rthe cancerpatient. give them both the mouse and the mouseball. they will put the mouseball back in. then have an outburst about how you "recancerized the poor mouse"

yea.

did i mention that you could dress them up as a mouse?

yea.

optical mouse
what fun, what fun. except, i want a green led optical, if they make them. they shuold make them. that would be fun. works on most anything, except for glass tables, which is annoying because i have glass tables and then when i use my optical mouse on it, nothing happens. and then i have to use my evil touchpad. anyways, you can also dress optical mice in little mousey coustumes. of course, you cn't tell them it has cancer, but you can say it's spewing blood.

and then they will invariably unplug the mouse, upon which you say "you pulled out it's life support!" and then try to resessitate the mouse.

these are cooliorer mice. but if you use it on a non-uniformically colored surface, it could wig out and spazz, which is annoying, but it is generally more accurate than a mechanical mouse.

laser mouse

super dooper optical mouse, except you can blind people with this one. okay, maybe not, but still. john connor, you must die.

yea. laser mice are cooliorific.

trackball
okay, who uses a trackball? that's like... "hey you want to spin by ball?" i mean, it doesn't even look like a mouse. if it were a real mouse it would be a really deformed mouse. you couldn't dress it up as a mouse unless it were frankenmousenstein. of course, you don't loose it, and you don't get that much dirt in it, but fcome on! there are laser mie out there that the cats havinet eatten yet, why don't you go get some?

tablet
yada yada. good for drawing. doesn't lok anything like a mouse. yea. it's not a mousy mouse, which isn't good.

handicapp
mousekeys. you use your numberpad as amouse. quite annoying, takes a really long time to go anywhere, or it takes too much time if you turn up the speed. errr.. i mean, or it goes way too fast if you turn off the speed. turn in the speed. turon aroudn the speed. ehhhhhhh. umm. turn up the speed. there we go.

yea.

anyways.

i have a nice black mouse. his name is raspul. raspul is a nice optical boy. he is made by IBM and is actually black. he was born to travel and is powered by USB 1.1. He's got a nice scroll wheel, although no tilt. two buttons, and neither of them use an evil touch thing like mighty mouse. he hasn't wigged out much yet, but i'm prepared for raspul's wild rebelliou phase anytime. i'll just draw silver flames on it. i had to do that because my calculator becausem a rebel. sheeshe.

yea. i think my mouse is in cahoots with my remote to both alwasy fall off my dest at the same time. hey look! a strawberry...

ummm.. yea. anyways, feel free to get people to buy a sandwitch while you're at it. or move this to technology, i fyou reall think so.

but then the mouse gods of raspul won't be happy.

anyways; i think i want to get a nice girl mouse to go with raspul. then they could push each others buttons.

i wonder if i could make the LEd on my mouse into a blue one or a black one. it would be rpetty cool if i could do that.

anyways. who's your mousey friend over there?

Haha, I have a wireless optical mouse I believe.
Very nice descriptions by the way Justin. rolleyes.gif

oh noes!

wireless mice are deprived!

they don't have tails and eat batteries like hell.

eppp.

nonono! it's too horrible to speak of!

micies need tails!
mipadi
I really prefer the trackpad on laptops. They're really easy to use, once you get the hang of them (which doesn't take long).

And correction: IBM had eraserhead-style pointing devices, but IBM doesn't make personal computers anymore. wink.gif

(Also, moving this to Technology.)
Gigi
LOL, how random. Made me laugh out loud, literally...especially the recancerization part. Hahahaha.

I have a wireless optical mouse as well. The mice need their freedom. The tail restricts them, you see.
wind&fire
f**k that... im on a laptop using a touchpad... i reckon it takes skill and sublety to master the ever awesome TOUCHPAD!

i cant get used to mouses(mice?) anymore
kryogenix
You forgot gyration!
misoshiru
HAHA. i have a wireless.

Wireless optical mouses are love.

Except when it comes to batteries...
Smoogrish
That was silly. It made me (and my mouse) laugh.

I have a wireless ergonomic microsoftical laser mouse.

The rechargeable ones are pretty cool, the one's with the charger dock.
