I personally think the guy should ask.
Because the girl is usually the one to wear the engagement ring correct?
idk thats what I think.

I personally think that a guy like me, should propose instead of the female.
Eh, some people might think differently.

I think the guy should ask, it's just the right thing for the guy to do. The guy is supposed to be the aggressive one.

Whats wrong with people? Of course the guy asks....dont you watch movies or ever see someone propose? and its like....tradition. I've never heard of a woman proposing.

But, both men and women can wear engagement rings.
You act like you've never seen a guy with a ring.
I agree with the "Guy should propose" part but I am "so and so" on the "Girls usually wear the engagement ring" part.

i think the guy should ask, its not about being "capable". guys know perfectly well woman are capable of doing whatever they want. so its not about that. in a way, its for a man to be in his most vulnerable state, and kneeling before a woman as he asks permission for her to take his hand in marriage....yeah

Men are already typically known as "the strong hold" the "care taker" etc. so for the man to be kneeling down before the woman ( as a man would a queen) and ask the Women for the permission shows valuable symbolism. i'd say more but ......all star game.

omg suzzette your totally missing my point lol. im not saying that i think the man is the strong hold or the care taker. but true or not thats how its typically seen across the fricken world. my point was, if you analyze the situation more, you'll see that really, proposal has nothing to do with the man having dominance. especially considering the man is kneeling before the woman.
but if you wanna kneel before the man, as he cries and jumps and down going "yes! yes!yes!" go for it.

, okay i really dont understand what your trying to say. what you've been saying was "why cant the woman propose" and "the woman is just as capable as the man" yada yada yada. as if your indicating this another subtle sexist type of situation. Now, all im saying is, that i dont think this is that type of deal. because answer this, in what way is this situation saying that the woman is not as capable as the man? because the way i see it, the man is practically bowing to the woman in proposal,
asking "will you marry me?" as his heart pounds hoping she says yes. And actually, wouldnt it seem more sexist if the woman had to kneel to the man? that seems closer to being sexist than the man kneeling to the woman donchathink? the irony in this is, after all the things men have done sexist to women in the past, when it comes to marriage, the woman actually makes the decision.
i would prefer the guy to ask only because of this: 1. it would save awkwardness 2.though its nerve racking, its something we usually look forward to, and women usually look forward to being asked more so than asking themselves.

pink proposed to her now husband. however she says:QUOTE
but anyway that's kind of a bad example but she's the only person i can think of right now. plenty of other women propose to their loves too.
but personally...i'd want my love to propose, that's just how i've always envisioned things.

i would rather propose cuz i mean girls like to talk about how their guy proposed and then all their friends are like OMG U DID? but then u have to think of something outrageous cuz u wanna make it special for her
