What do you think of the current budget crisis in America?

Do you think the Bush administration is prioritizing major fundings on military spending and not providing enough funds for public services such as health care, education, or welfare for the well-being of the American citizens?

I would like to hear your opinions...

Yes, I feel that it is because of the war. Look at all the money we're spending on it!

But, I wouldn't blame it on Bush and his Administration. Why? Because it would have happened anyways with or without Bush as the president.

Don't claim that we don't spend enough money on education, because our public education system is better than any other country's in the world, whether it lives up to pre-Iraqi War standards or not.

Thank goodness someone brought this up!

Sure, deficit is a problem, but there will always be ups and down in the economy.

But I wonder how Bush will answer to it in time for the eleciton.

I absolutely agree! Analysts find that this huge deficit is a result of recession, tax cuts (that we're enjoying), and increases in spending for Medicare and other welfare programs.

I agree totally.

I think that since we already started this war, we can't just up and decide to start working on education and the like.
We need to finish what we've started.

Although, I think our education systems are fine the way they are..

For the most part, our country seems to be in good shape.
Aren't we living in one of the best [if not the best] nations in the world?
We've got the amenities, the government, the freedoms.

itz wierd tho... first people complain they pay too much taxes......then they're angry when their education or health care isn't good enuf.... i guess people are just never happy

Even if you do want to blame this on Bush, you have to make sure you're stable as a country first - as in, you want to prevent future attacks or other things with countries - before you can look to improve your education system, which, as others have mentioned, are already great.

Hear, Hear! I'll drink to that!

America is one of the greatest nations in the world (so what if I'm biased, it's still true).

Somehow, I think we'll solve this deficit problem. We were the biggest creditor before the WWs, but since then we've become the biggest debtor. But we've been fine for the last 50 years even with the deficit, so there's no reason to fear just yet.

I don't think we have the best education system. Many people are failing but then again many are rising to the top. We need to do more things to force education, to force succeeding and notfailing, ultimately it is up to the child but we need to make it that there would be consequences for failing. Some might say it is wrong, but if we want the country to stay at the top we need more educated people

Bush is just a proximate cuase, the main problem is GOVERNMENT itself.

Here's my idea. I know it sounds a little crazy:

LET'S FOLLOW THE STINKIN' CONSTITUTION FOR ONCE. It IS the law and everything...

Amendment X: The powers not delegated to the federal government by the Constitution ... are reserved to the states, respectively, or the people...

HEAR THAT!!!! That means that 95% of the stuff the government does it shouldn't!
