Something handmade, or something special, that would take some thinking.
And something that shows he cares instead of just trying to get in my pants.

It depends on the girl too. My brat of a boyfriend tried to talk me into wanting a huge mess of flowers. I told him I'd throw them at him if he got me that.
Some people would die to get something like that tho.

lols i would like his presence the most...

i don't really need abstract things...(i think thats what its called) but if he were to get me something a simple bear, roses, or something he made would work....he could even sing to me and i'll be happy...lols its the thought that counts

Just something that shows he spent time thinking about it and/or making it. I would also just really want to spend the day with him, free from any distractions (other people, family, friends, etc).

i guess it does depends on the type of girls she is, but usually girls would love anything from the guy that she loves. but it must be something thoughtful though. doesnt have to be expensive and I agree that handmade stuff are great. Just at least put SOME thought into the present.

why does everyone want flowers? they're such a waste of money and they die! you get them then you put them in water, then they die and/or wilt away so you have to clean up after them.
tell him to get her a cute card and spill his heart in it. probably a teddy bear too, i love teddy bears
however the topic title says "what would you want?" what do i want? i want a COMMITMENT, damn it!!!

Really depends on how long they've been going out. There's some rumor or saying that's like, you shouldn't give out jewelry unless the relationship is at least a year old. Otherwise, flowers would be nice, it's the thought that counts, right? Maybe even chocolate, give a girl a chance to live a little.
If money's tight, and these items are too expensive, go on a walk with her, talk to her, maybe tell her something special.

something really sweet and thoughtful. The best valentines gift I have ever gotten was a small scrapbook with pictures of us in it. I still have it (it was from 3 years ago). A really pretty simple necklace isn't too shabby either.

Chocolate is always great, chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite. Cards are good and flowers, write a message in the card.

something hand made is best, but chocolate is always nice

.
For hand made you could... take an empty binder and on every page say something or draw something special, like I did for my friend for her brithday. After all is done it kinda looks like a scrap book, and it doens't have to be very long, just like 10 pages...on the first page you could draw a pic of her favourite animal and on the second page you could write a poem about her favourite pass time, stuff like that. I think it would be really cute to get something like that, even if it's not that great looking...it's the thought that counts.

hmmm my "soon to be" bf was asking me what i wanted. i think a cute teddy bear, flowers, or chocolate is nice. but something homemade that he put a lot of time into would be really really really cute.

I want a ring.. a Platinum one! haha jk. Well I really do want my boyfriend to give me one...

We've been together for over 3 years and I really want to wear something that shows that I'm taken, by him. :] Bleh someday I'll get one haha. Or still, a promise ring in general would be sweet.

I want something random from him. I wish he'd also make me a jar of stars or something. I mean, it's totally inexpensive.. It would really mean a lot if he did... *sigh* I want him to give me something random, something that doesn't consist of the cliche'd v-day touch, you know what I mean? :]
It's the thought that counts, and I want the gift to be random or non-v-day-ish because I don't want him to give me a gift just because it's Valentine's Day. I want him to get me something totally random, because like Kris said, it IS the thought that counts. :]

Heh, I know its impratical. I dry the roses and keep them on my dresser. I have tons and they remind me of the places I got them from. I have a dozen from my boyfriend "just because", a couple from my aunt's wedding, some from funerals... its like floral memoirs.

i dry my flowers too but maybe it's just me because they don't end up looking a quarter as good as they did when they weren't dry. so all in all, giving me flowers is a waste

at my school, we have these things you can buy for people called "singing valentines" - basically you can choose from a couple songs that you want to send to someone (anonymously or with you as the sender) and a group of people from the choir shows up in one of their class periods to sing to them.. it's really cute =D haha kinda humiliating for the reciever of the valentine but its great to send to teachers as well, or as a joke, haha

It really depends on how long the two have been together EX. my boyfriend sand i have been together for 6 months and he bought me 2 teddy's a bracelet a box of chocolates and a card. Although some girls like the material things others will be okay with just a card so im guessing it all depends on what kind of girl she is.
