Trans. PNG's are also useful. More so than .PSD's in my opinion.

Well pngs, i'm working on PSP and frankly somehow when i cut the background on PNGs it isn't transparent so yeah. It's kinda hard.

When cutting out the image, copy it and make a new document and make the background transparent and then paste the cut out image.

It's an option. You have to check it.
File -> Export -> PNG Optimizer -> Tab that says "Transparency" -> Choose "Alpha Channel Transparency" or "Single Color Transparency" depends on how many colors you've got.
