Does anyone know how to get a good brushed aluminim effect with photoshop? I was just wondering because i was making a background (something kinda like longs) with brushed aluminum with the streaks that are noticable but not too big. I was thinking of a -60 degree angle for the streaks.

hmm. I seem to have found a way to do something like it, but it only goes vertical or horizontal, not diagonal. Its filter->texture->grain type=vertical

is there a way to get this to slant? or is there a way to manipulate the canvas so it looks diagonal?

thanks for the help.

d'oh! motion blurs and noise. I never thoght of that. i'm stupid. brushed aluminum, for those of you who don't know, is the kind of aluminum that has the streaks through it (do a search on yahoo images to get a gander)
