So do you guys have braces?

I do... I just got them tightened today and it hurts like hell. But my teeth look so much better now so it's all cool.

But 4 years is such a long time... *sigh* I can't believe I have to enter college wearing braces...

I never had braces, but my sister did for about 4 years - she just got them off a couple summers ago, so I have a pretty good idea of what you're going through. It's tough to have braces as you get older. It must be a pain to have them going into college.

My teeth are a little crooked, and I've been trying to convince my parents to get me those invisa-line clear mouthguard - ish 'braces', but so far no luck. Those things are dern expensive.

i just got my braces off in february but i only had to suffer for a year. man four years is a long time but my sister she had it for 6 years. doesnt that make u feel better... ? but it's all worth it cuz ur teeth will be super nice.

i don`t but i think i might hafta get them for my bottom teeth .. i have no idea. it`ll suck if i do hafta get them, i`m 18 already .. i wish i got them when i was younger.

i thought the invislign ones r used for retainers? they r used to stragten ur teeth out too? like braces? even if ur teeth r really messed up?? i dont see how somethin non metal can get ur teeth straight?

eww i used to have them..i had them for 2 and a half years..then i accidentally threw my bottom retainer away at lunch and never got a new one..then we moved to SF and when i was cleaning out my room i accidentally threw away my top one and still havent gotten one..im afraid my teeth are gonna start getting crooked again..i guess i should get some new ones LoL

hmm... well, I'm pretty sure they're braces... except non-metal... my teeth aren't even that bad though, so I think it should work for me... the thing is, i think they're hella expensive... I'm not sure how much they'd cost

if it makes u feel any better my uncle is 24 and he got them last year and he has to wear them for another 3 years. i had them for about 3 years already. im getting them off soon. ^_^ eat cold ice cream and things that are soft if you teeth hurts right after they were tightened.

I don't right now, but I hope I don't get them anytime soon. My parents are thinking of it, but the expenses...WHEW~.

i was supposed to get mine OFF this Thursday..but we have STAR testing so i can't miss that. now i'm getting them off next wednesday

no worries. my mom did 3 years of college with braces! I would have died. I got mine put on a year ago, and I'll hopefully have them off by next year.

i got them off december 19 2003.3 days before my birthday...december 22

O, I just got them off a few weeks ago, but I have those really annoying retainers, where there's that part that looks like you gums.... icky! But I really hated my braces, however, I ate everything I wasn't supposed to anyway, my dentist never questioned me said I was doing fine, and now they're GONE.... FOREVER!!! feel better, I know exactly how it feels to get them tightened, no food for the next day...

Ah well.. I never got braces.. I could've but well I don't want them all clamped up in my mouth cause it hurts like hell the first time That's what I heard lol. And I have a delicate mouth and i get a canker sore once in a while in my mouth when I bite my mouth... so If i had braces my mouth would probably be hurting so much more when i have those canker sores. But it would be cool to have straight teeth for once.. ahh well when I get rich imma get those hella expensive clear safe ones that look invisible.. ahhas cause that's the way to go

If you go for your appointments on time, you'll be able to get them of in 3 years. But if you keep missing them, it might take 5 or 6 years...

That's why I never skip apppintments, no matter how busy I am.

well most of da ppl i kno hav braces but i dont....me gettin dem soon though. ima get orange and pink ones but ye ai heard they hurt like hell! muh friend got hers the other day and she looked funnie. evryone was makin fun of her...it was kinda sad i dont look forward to gettin them....

haha dont worry i had them 4-7 grade, im in 8th grade now...i felt dorky when i was small but its all worth it now that i got htem off

they;'re really not that bad you get used to it...you know those rules? (no gum, popcorn, sticky candy..) yeah well i broke all of them ^^ none of my brackets fell off so its all good...i remembered getting my braces off..my dentist was literally prying them out of my mouth
